A Wonderful Gift

May 28, 2010 at 12:05 am by Claudia

About a week ago, I received an email from my friend, Becky. Many of you know Becky, who writes the wonderful blog, Sweet Cottage Dreams. If you don’t know her, please visit. She has wonderful style, a compassionate heart, and two of the cutest Scotties ever. Becky said she wanted to send me something that was perfect for me. Of course! (I love presents.)

Today, Becky’s package arrived. I saw this envelope upon opening the box:

Scottie stationery

And this is what I unwrapped:

Oh my goodness, I am in love. This is a vintage fuzzy Koala and baby that is a bank! Look, I’ll show you.

This is the sweetest little bank. It is on the coffee table right now. I adore it.

Thank you, Becky, for this sweet, unexpected gift. I’ve been smiling all day.

In other news, Mom is home from the hospital. I’m afraid we don’t know much more about what caused her problems. She is tired, but happy to be home.

When I was at the beach on Wednesday, I gazed upon the Pacific Ocean and thought how clear, clean and blue it was….and relatively safe from the oil spill. Our friends in Louisiana and along the Gulf Coast do not have that luxury. How awful it must be for them, their livelihoods and for all the sea life in danger. It will have ramifications for all of us.

Today, I am having lunch with another blogger, Maryjane of The Beehive Cottage. We’ve never met before. We are going to meet in Temecula and shop and eat. I will take photos, of course!

Have a wonderful day.

Claudia, those koalas from Becky are SO cute! What a darling little bank! That Becky is a sweet lady, but so are you. :-)

Glad to hear your mom got home from the hospital, and I hope they get to the bottom of things for her. I pray she is fine now.

I also wanted to thank you for your birthday wishes to Mr. Magpie. He appreciated it SO much. It just made his day. :-)

I am going to take a few days away from the blog because of things going on here, but I will see you as soon as I return. In the mean time, I wish you a fun blogger lunch and a very Happy Memorial Day.

    XO,

    Sheila :-)

Your collection is growing! I’m glad your Mom got to go home. I was hoping she wouldn’t have to spend Memorial Day weekend in the hospital. Love Maryjane! She has the cutest blog! You have fun now.

    Dearest Claudia,

So good to hear that your mother is home and on the mend. I know it’s gotta’ be so hard for you way out here, and they’re way out there. That bank is so cute, and I can imagine you giggling all day from it. Enjoy the weekend.

    Hugs,
    Meri

Too cute. Darling little koalas and it is a bank! Great.

Glad your mom is home and hope she continues to do well.

So sad about the oil spill. It is such a shame and such a disaster for all those little sea creatures.

Have a fun day. Hugs, Dogwood

The koala bank is adorable. How sweet of your friend to send it to you.
I can’t imagine what the Gulf must look like right now. I feel so deeply for those folks who live along the coast there.
I pray that this current “solution” to stop the flow of oil will work. I also pray that the clean up will work and not take forever!!

Welcome!

Welcome!

I live in a little cottage in the country with my husband. It's a sweet place, sheltered by old trees and surrounded by gardens. The inside is full of the things we love. I love to write, I love my camera, I love creating, I love gardening. My decorating style is eclectic; full of vintage and a bit of whimsy.

I've worked in the theater for more years than I can count. I'm currently a voice, speech, dialect and text coach freelancing on Broadway, off Broadway, and in regional theater.

Thanks for stopping by.
