I’m crocheting some Obsession scarves for my soon-to-be Etsy shop. For those of you who have no idea what I’m talking about, last winter I was completely caught up in making these scarves, also known as the Queen Anne’s Lace pattern. I made several of them, including a few for fellow bloggers. I love crocheting these beauties. I’ve decided that the Etsy shop will carry vintage finds and handmade pieces, by the way.
My goal this next week is to get the Etsy shop up and running…or at least almost up and running! I have a big old learning curve to deal with so I will be researching and asking advice from my fellow Etsy sellers.
My sister is also contributing some of her exquisite handmade (on her loom) shawls and scarves. Here’s a peek at what she sent me the other day:
Let me tell you, they are soft and beautifully woven and gorgeous. I am honored to sell her creations. Check out her latest post in which she writes about how she weaves and creates on her loom.
The wind has died down, thank goodness. No damage to the trees. About 3:00 yesterday afternoon, I decided that if ever there was a hot chocolate kind of day, this was it, and made myself a cup. Then I settled in my chair and talked on the phone with my sister, Brenda and my dad.
Today might just be a hot chocolate kind of day, as well. Don’t you agree?

I’m always looking for new scarves. Can’t wait to see your Etsy shop.

The scarves look beautiful and so does your sister’s work. Enjoy your hot chocolate, you lucky woman! I love chocolate but it does not love me. I’m looking forward to seeing your Etsy shop. Hope you have a wonderful day. So glad none of the trees lost their limbs and that the wind has died down. Over here, it’s a beautiful white landscape after all the snow we had these past two days.

We had such terrible winds in November. It was awful. We hardly slept at all that night.

That`s funny, Claudia! I just did a crochet post and am also considering selling my creations on Etsy.
I`ve asked my blogging buddies for any advice they may have and hopefully they will be kind enough to share.
Good luck to both of us!

Good luck on your etsy shop. I opened up one but never posted anything. Still want to do it. Your scarfs are so pretty and your sisters work is beautiful too.
Yes, it’s like 19 here today and that isn’t the wind chill factor. Snow on the ground and still snowing. Hot chocolate it is.

Claudia,
I noticed the type of the crochet hook that you have in the picture. I have been pondering about those for sometime now. I have been using the ordinary ones for many many years now and have many of them, feeling unjustifiable to get more. So, let me ask… are they worth it and do they really help with any part of the hand, fingers and wrist?

Hello my friend and Happy New Year to you and hubby!! I may not comment or post much (just did finally!!) but I love coming by here and checking out your posts. You are such a talented lady and a very wise one too. I am willing to bet that your girlfriends say you are an amazing friend and they cherish their relationships with you. I am making those Queen Anne’s Lace scarves left and right thanks to you! I love them. Sometimes I think I will add a little fun fur or ?? to them but I don’t. Also love your sisters blog…checked her out this morning. I’ll be back….keep up the great work and thanks so much for always sharing your “stuff” with the rest of us…tutorials and such. Hugs…deb

Debbie, you`re so sweet. I don`t comment much either, but I feel the same way about Claudia. Wish she was my next door neighbour!

Those scarves are beautiful! Can’t wait to see what colors you have on Etsy. Be sure and give us more info when you are going to open your shop.
It’s a hot chocolate day here in Texas today; we’ve got wind and cold that makes me think I’m up on the Oklahoma prairie with Brenda! I don’t “do” wind at all! Hot chocolate, jammies and a fire in the fireplace, that’s what my day will be like.
Hope you get lots done for the shop this weekend.

I love my scarf by Claudia :-) and any cold blustery day calls for hot chocolate, absolutely.

I can’t wait to see your Etsy shop! I’ll definitely be looking at those scarves– they’re so beautiful. I really love that pattern and I can imagine that they drape nicely. (Is “nicely” a real word? I’m getting that spelling brain thingy I get. I wish comments had a spell check.)
Oh… hot cocoa… that sounds perfect. I think I’ll go make some right now!
Hugs,
Jill

Crocheting is a wonderful cold weather activity!! Work at it for a little while, and you soon feel a lot warmer … expecially if you’re crocheting an afghan or a shawl. I love the pattern for you scarf.

You should do very well Claudia! And I thought the tips for starting an Etsy store on COZY LITTLE HOUSE were insightful. Might have to try it myself (:

I interviewed Judy today and she gave all kinds of info on Etsy shop success. I worked on mine today too. Don’t know when it will be up and running. Ran into more sewing machine problems! And I just had it repaired!

HOw exciting Claudia! I just opened my shop a couple days ago, but haven’t listed anything yet. Just got the banner made. My biggest issue is shipping. I don’t have a clue how to do it. If you get tips from folks, will you be so good as to post them on your blog?
Can’t wait to see what beauties fly off your hook for sale :)
(ps. my shop is The Rustic Chic Bride)

Congratulations on your new Etsy shop! Yay for you! I hope it goes really well, and that you and your sister enjoy it. Your scarf is such a glorious color! I love that pattern too. And your sisters weavings…you only gave us a glimpse, guess we will have to run over to your Etsy shop when it opens to see more : )

By the looks of these comments you’ll be back-ordered on scarves for the next year!
I have bookmarked the Queen Anne’s Lace pattern in my projects file. However, since you’ll be selling them, I now know where I’ll be!
BTW I love the name ‘Obsession’. Is that because they’re that addicting to make?
Luanne says
I will be buying one of your beautiful scarves. A pretty ivory one for me, please?? Will you custom make a color?
Good luck with your Etsy store. Looking forward to it opening.
