A Bit Foggy

February 27, 2018 at 9:01 am by Claudia

Still going strong. Alstroemeria is a workhorse!

I was so out of it yesterday. It didn’t matter where I sat down – on the bus, on the sofa, at my desk, in my blogging chair, in the bathtub – I nodded off in every place. And by nodding off, I mean asleep for about 15 minutes. I felt like I was drugged! I also slept for a nice long time last night. I guess I needed it, but I’m a bit foggy today.

The tiny carnations are here courtesy of Don. He handed me this bouquet as I stepped off the bus. Can I admit to you that I have a huge crush on him? I do.

Speaking of Don, the cast of Escape to Margaritaville  is going to be on the Today show on Thursday. They’ll be performing live and you just might catch a glimpse of Don – I assume that will depend on the camera position. I’m not sure what hour but if I get some more info from Don, I’ll pass it on to you.

Today is about paying bills, going to the post office, going to the bank and buying some groceries. In other words, an errand running day.

There’s a bright and shiny new leaf on the Monstera with two more waiting in the wings. They’re still developing but it won’t be long. And the spider plant now has three babies. They’re not open yet, but they’re growing nice and tall.

A glimpse of the skyline as I left the city yesterday. Note helicopter.

Thankfully, it’s bright and sunny here today.

I’ve heard from a couple of people who received a spam email purporting to be from me. It has another email address however. So it’s either a spoof or they’re using my name from a previous hack. I hope you know by now not to click on any email that just has a link. Don’t. I’ve changed a password or two just to make sure all is well.

Happy Tuesday.

the flowers are beautiful and so is that image of nyc!

thanks for the tip to see a bit of “escape to margaritaville” on tv later this week. chances are i will be at work, but maybe i can get it on tape or later see it on youtube.

    happy Tuesday!

Not as warm here today as you are going to be but it will be in the fifties and that’s okay by me!

Oh the fog…I’m sure most of us have experienced that fog. Your flowers are looking great…oh that Don….what a sweetheart! It’s supposed to be 55 today…woohoo…but it’ll be short lived….snow on Thursday. I was thinking of checking out the yard…but, I think it’s too squishy out there. Maybe a walk is in order. Hope you get to enjoy the great weather…hurry up on your errands! ;)

Beautiful flowers Claudia. I was a floral designer for years and Alstro is one of the longest lasting cut flowers, and such variety in colors. I will try to catch Today on Thursday and hope to see Don. What a thrill for him and you. Take heart as it has been beautiful here in Michigan, stunning blue skies, almost balmy temps. Even cleaned up my garden a bit and checked on the babies yet to come. Oh, I am soooo ready to get dirty out there. I had difficulty staying awake
yesterday as well. ???? Take care.

I’ve been that tired that I fell asleep every time I sat down, just be careful in the bathtub!! You have the sweetest husband. Love the flowers and the thoughtfulness. I’ll DVR the Today show and hopefully catch Don. We have a bit of sunshine and I’m feeling better so a little walk is in order today. Hugs!

Will try to catch the Today show Thursday, but I usually don’t watch it, so must write myself a reminder. It must have been a day for short naps, Claudia. I also drifted off yesterday, while stitching. When I awoke, I had progressed a little farther along, but no mistakes! My daughters think it’s weirdly hilarious (or hilariously weird) that I can stitch or knit while seemingly unconscious, but I’m probably semi-conscious. It’s a hit or miss whether I get it correct or not. Have “fun” doing errands….sometimes they are fun, if still routine, and sometimes they are mundane. Spent an hour in the orthodontist chair today. I’m in the 2/3 or so point of my Invisalign so the tabs were sanded off and my teeth were rescanned for the next set of trays. He always has a fresh pot of Peet’s in the waiting room, so I filled my travel cup after the appointment and finished my other errands with a nice hot Peet’s by my side!

I never watch it! But I’ll watch then.

Yay for doctors who have Peet’s in their waiting rooms!

my husband was still my thunderbolt until the day he died. for 17 too-short years we laughed together and loved our life! I was 33 when he died and he was 43.
and he made life so wonderful that I have to (perhaps shamefully) admit that I knew i would never remarry. I dated. and I didn’t mean to compare. but I know I subconsciously did!
there are some men like that. they find us and it’s just meant to be. and I’m content now.
I think your Don is one of those men! I’ll be watching on Thursday. not my usual thing to have tv on in the morning… or even daytime at all. but I will love seeing Escape to Margaritaville coverage! xo

I’m so sorry you lost him so young, Tammy. I can’t imagine how painful that must have been.

Don is one of those men. I would never marry again if I lost him.

I never have tv on during the day, so I’ll have to write a note to myself, too!

I will definitely watch the Today Show on Thursday! My husband and I will celebrate our 45th anniversary in June. I don’t think I could ever marry again if he goes first. Some couples are just meant to be.

I am sorry you are feeling ‘foggy’, Claudia. That and maybe still being tired can wear you out. Love the flowers and love how much you love Don.

Let us know about the Today Show. It is always fun to see someone you “know” on TV.

Hope you have a good night and maybe feel a whole lot better tomorrow. xo Diana

I’m congested, so I think that’s contributing to the foggy feeling. All I can tell you about the Today show is that they’re on Thursday’s broadcast. If you’re like me and like quiet in the morning, I suggest turning it on and muting the sound until Margaritaville appears!

Your Don is a sweetheart! I have a great guy like him too and I know I would never remarry if I ever lost him.
I’ve been under the weather and very late in commenting on your 10 year blogging anniversary. Congrats and please know how much pleasure your blog brings me! I’m disabled and mostly home bound these days and your blog has truly been a gift! I don’t comment often, but have read daily for a few years now. I love your photography, your descriptive writing, your lovely cottage and garden, your travels and your politics! Yours is my most favorite blog and the first one I read everyday. Thank you, Claudia!

Those carnations are lovely. Today was a good day to get outside. My sister and me cleaned and raked our front yard. It had a lot of leaves left from Autumn. We also raked the front lawn and will seed it when the next rain comes. If we do it when it is dry the squirrels and birds eat teh seeds. Enjoy the nice weather.

Welcome!

Welcome!

I live in a little cottage in the country with my husband. It's a sweet place, sheltered by old trees and surrounded by gardens. The inside is full of the things we love. I love to write, I love my camera, I love creating, I love gardening. My decorating style is eclectic; full of vintage and a bit of whimsy.

I've worked in the theater for more years than I can count. I'm currently a voice, speech, dialect and text coach freelancing on Broadway, off Broadway, and in regional theater.

Thanks for stopping by.
