I’m rather edgy this morning so I’ll keep this short. I finished most of my work yesterday, so I’m going to try to take it easy this weekend.
I haven’t worked in so long that my level of confidence is low. I know that I’m good at what I do, but I’m officially older than anyone else in the company and there have been no offers for over a year and a half, so that lack of confidence is real.
And there are lists to be made, questions still to be answered about the mechanics of this whole thing, and all of it is too much for a person who loves being home with her husband in her ‘safe place.’ I don’t want to be away from Don but of course I have to be. He doesn’t like it either. I used to be fairly cool with it all because going away to work happened fairly often. But now I’m out of practice. And my life here with Don is more important than ever.
Once I’m there and working, it will be better. I will be better.
And, of course, I know I’m lucky to have this job and I am very grateful. It goes without saying, but I’m saying it anyway.
I have some chores to do around the house today and that should keep me occupied.
This is brief, I know, but it’s to the point!
Stay safe.
Happy Saturday.

I’ll be holding you up in prayer. You can do this. You go, girl.
Thank you, Christine.
Stay safe.
glad you’ll feel better once things (driving to new jersey, meeting and coaching people, whatever else) get going.
in the meantime, that edginess you feel is easy to understand. hope it goes away soon and you have a peaceful weekend, a work trip you feel good about (i am sure of it) and safe travels. and i’d bet seeing darko again will be helpful to both of you.
introvert here, too. also a homebody. i like to do things (like that john cusack movie thing earlier this month), but am happiest at home and with my family.
there’s a lot going on in the world and in our own lives, but that’s what i want for you, don and everyone else … to be happy, fulfilled, where you want to be, doing what you want and with your loved ones.

I’m sure you’ll get back in the zone very quickly. You know what you’re doing and you are very good at it. Take good care when you’re traveling. Enjoy your weekend with Don. Hugs, Elaine
Thank you, Elaine.

I can’t imagine having a job right now. I’m so use to being home and my routine. You are very talented and you will do a good job. I’m thinking of you!
Thank you, Linda.

All shall be well, all shall be well, in all manner of things all shall be well. Amen.
You will do a great job because you are older, wiser and have more experience!
Thank you, Betsy.

One step at a time. And if you find it’s too much, you can decline future jobs. But still, I hope it goes well and you get some satisfaction from taking this on. Have a good trip!
Me, too, Lynda.
Stay safe.
I know you will be fantastic! We may be older but we are wiser.
You will miss Don and your home but they will be waiting for you.
Marion
Thanks so much, Marion.

You got this Claudia! You’ve done this so often it will come back to you. Have some fun too.
I hope to, Marilyn.

Claudia, I felt this post deeply. I vote we make “I will be better” the official rallying cry for us all, I admire your honesty about confidence and aging in the workplace. You have experience and I get the ache of leaving home but doing it anyway, It’s all so familiar. You are not alone in that edge. Sending encouragement as you prepare for the week ahead. Thanks for letting us into your morning.
Thank you so much, Maria.
Stay safe.
You will do great!
It’s been such a wet summer, storms too. Everything is lush. I cleaned out my flower bed and the potted flowers.
Mike is away for some days and aah… I can breathe! I feel more free when he’s gone. He doesn’t say kind words to me. We’re married a long time. My dad’s parents went through this too.
I can’t sit in church anymore. I miss everyone. My friend is coming over so we can watch a movie.
Thanks, Irene.
Stay safe.
They are lucky to have you. That is why you were asked to take the job. Your reputation and talent precedes you. New adventures await you.
Take Care,
Kaye
Thank you, Kaye.
