Lynn, from It’s a July Thing, shared her Fairy Garden with us. That’s Zelda there, basking in the beauty of the garden. How lovely it is!
Chel, of Sweetbriar Dreams, shared several things, including these lovely snowdrops that are coming up in her garden. Chel, I’d give anything to see something blooming at this point in the winter!
Angela, at The Cottage Magpie, shared a great tutorial on How to Make an Ironing Surface. I am going to do this, Angela. It’s the perfect size to have on hand, especially when sewing!

This week, I am sharing my love of crochet. It’s definitely a favorite thing. Most of you know that I do a lot of crocheting, especially for the Etsy shop. I know how to knit and have done my fair share of it, but I prefer crochet. I like the rhythm of it, the movement of the crochet hook, the look of the stitches…everything. My grandmother, who despaired of ever getting me to understand crochet, must be smiling somewhere. Of course, she crocheted with thread and created amazing doilies and edgings for pillowcases. I haven’t done anything that small and intricate. Maybe someday.

One of my concerns about link parties is that the very reason for them has somewhat gone by the wayside. Crochet is like meditation. It takes you away to a better place. Just wish I was better at it. Still trying to master granny squares. I must be crochet challenged. Too bad you live so far away. I would hop over for a lesson! Thanks for a wonderful party. It’s a real favorite of mine. Maybe that’s what I should post about next week ~ this party.

I have been trying to decide if I like crochet or knitting better Claudia. I am glad to hear you like crochet better. I think crochet is easier than knitting. I would like to do more of it. Your work is just lovely.
I need to get back to crocheting. I used to enjoy it, especially making flowers and leaves, dolls and hats. The other night I tried to make a simple rose and it didn’t work. That little fairy garden is so cute! I love to crochet too — but not with bedspread weight thread! I learned to crochet using it and have made a few things with it, but oh boy, not anymore! Too little for these old eyes!!

I both knit and crochet but crochet is by far my first love. My Grandma taught me when I was 7 years old. I’ve actually been using that very same hook tonight as I make a baby blanket. The paint is worn almost completely off of it. I’ve made several lace tablecloths and hundreds of doilies. I like the delicate feeling of using the thread instead of yarn. Have a great weekend.

I come from a long line of crocheters and although I don’t crochet often, I do find it so calming and pleasurable. I’ve had an inkling to crochet something lately, and hope I find the time and tenacity to follow through. We call my mom the Queen of Crochet. Her work is gorgeous, as is my twin sister’s.

Thanks for hosting Claudiia. I’ll be sure to visit some of the other bloggers. I like this nice cozy party. Love the color of the yarn in your last photo. Rencently retired and one of my co-workers (who has become a dear friend) came by with her bag of yarn and crochet materials. I haven’t crocheted in over 20 years and within 10 minutes I was practicing a simple single stitch. Just like riding a bicycle it all came back. I’m hoping it will help calm some of the anxiety I’ve been experiencing. Maybe I’ll be able ot move on to some more complex patterns in a few months. Now I’m off to visit a few bloggers before reiring for the evening.

Thank you for hosting, Claudia. It’s always a pleasure to read all the different posts and get to know new blogs. Your crochet work is so beautiful. My mother used to crochet doilies. I have the patterns and some of her eensy hooks and have tried it myself but you need good eyesight and dexterity, both of which I lack at times. Both she and my grandmother used to crochet afghans, some of which we still have, and my mother also loved to knit. I’m so grateful I lived with two women who could teach me those things.
