A Flower-Filled Sunday

March 3, 2013 at 9:47 am by Claudia

lotsofflowers2

There may be no flowers blooming on the outside of the cottage, but there are a lot of flowers blooming inside!

purpleflowers

It’s time for some new garlands in the shop. And I have to crochet some scarves, too.  I’m not ready to list them yet, but I’ll give you a heads up when I’m about to.

redgarland

This is the garland that’s going to Judy at 20 North Ora. I’m awfully fond of it.

That’s what I’m up to on this Sunday. It looks sunny outside. I can only hope it will stay that way. We haven’t seen it very much lately.

Question for the day: When did the word curated become so overused? I do believe it has lost its original, highly specialized definition. Suddenly everyone’s a curator. Makes me sad.

pjparty

Tomorrow is the PJ Party! I’d love to have you take part. Write a post about your favorite pajamas or nightgown, flannel or otherwise. Post a picture. Wax rhapsodic over the joy of spending an entire day in your pajamas or any adventures you’ve had in your pajamas or what happens when you greet the UPS man in your pajamas. You get the picture. I will have the party up and ready to go at 8:00 EST tonight, to give those of you who are pressed for time on Monday a chance to post.

Who knows how many will show up for this party? That’s the problem any party thrower runs into! I’m looking forward to reading your posts, my friends.

Linking to Elaine’s Sunny Simple Sunday.

Happy Sunday.

Those are simply delightful….and it’s so nice to see the bright cheery colors.

I would say curated became over used when Pinterest started to become very popular.

Love those precious crochet flowers. I am so envious!!! Maybe I should fly you out to Idaho so you can give me some one on one crochet tutorials. I apparently did not inherit the ability from either of my grandmothers. See you tonight!

Beautiful garland of flowers, Claudia. And I love the way you’ve displayed them. I’ve noticed ‘curated’ a lot lately, too. Reminds me of the lines in Princess Bride – “You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means.”

I’m just now starting crocheting again after a hundred years! So far I can only do straight lines – willI ever be able to make lovely flowers like yours Claudia? I hope so as they are gorgeous.

I love the colors in that top photo, Claudia. What a breath of spring. And again, all I can say about that beautiful red garland is: Geraniums! So cheerful and rich and spring-like. It was pleasant here last weekend as well… a happy change from three weekends of snow, sleet, or blizzards.

Welcome!

Welcome!

I live in a little cottage in the country with my husband. It's a sweet place, sheltered by old trees and surrounded by gardens. The inside is full of the things we love. I love to write, I love my camera, I love creating, I love gardening. My decorating style is eclectic; full of vintage and a bit of whimsy.

I've worked in the theater for more years than I can count. I'm currently a voice, speech, dialect and text coach freelancing on Broadway, off Broadway, and in regional theater.

Thanks for stopping by.
