A Little Trip Back Home

Just a short post today. I found out I can go home for about 4 days! This part of the rehearsal/tech process is not about me, so I usually stay away for a few days. Don’s on his way to pick me up and I’ll soon be reunited with my family. Yay! It’s raining hard and, unfortunately, the pesky roof is leaking again. We need to put a tarp up there until the chimney flashing can be fixed. So Don’s on his way, he’ll pick me up, and when we get home it will be tarp time.

And I’ll get to see my girl.

It’s a holiday for some of you – enjoy.

I have to get going. I didn’t expect Don to be on the road this early in the morning and I’ve been sitting around, drinking my coffee, thinking it would be  several hours until he arrived. Whoops!

Happy Monday.

Claudia, So glad you get an opportunity to come home for a few days. However, DO NOT allow Don to get on the roof !!!!!!!!
On August 14th my husband got up on the roof to wash the mold from the siding of our two story house . While up there, he saw there were leaves in the gutter, he took the power washer and sprayed them to the downspout where they got clogged. He reached down to unclogg the downspout lost his footing and fell. He broke his femur in four places, had surgery to put a steel rod in his leg, has been in the hospital since August 14th. He is going thru PT and OTand we’ve been told he MIGHT be able to walk by Christmas. By the time we pay the deductible and our portion of the medical bills, we could have hired an army to clean the gutters, mold and repaint the entire house.
My advice is to hire a young guy to do this kind of thing. It might seem expensive now but if something like this happens to Don you both will be in much worse shape….physically, mentally, emotionally and financially.
    Vanessa
PS The mold and leaves are still up there.

Scout is so cute Claudia! Kiss the top of that head right between the ears for me…that kind of picture makes you want to reach in and plant a kiss on her!

So happy you got to go home – getting to see your loved ones in-between those long periods you have to be away from home, just lifts your spirits, doesn’t it?!

    Have a good week! :)

Welcome!

Welcome!

I live in a little cottage in the country with my husband. It's a sweet place, sheltered by old trees and surrounded by gardens. The inside is full of the things we love. I love to write, I love my camera, I love creating, I love gardening. My decorating style is eclectic; full of vintage and a bit of whimsy.

I've worked in the theater for more years than I can count. I'm currently a voice, speech, dialect and text coach freelancing on Broadway, off Broadway, and in regional theater.

Thanks for stopping by.
