Thought you’d like to see what’s blooming or about to bloom on the ‘wilder’ sections of the property.
Lovely rocket complete with a gentle moth. I was worried about the moth because it wasn’t moving, so I stuck a finger out and it climbed on my finger and let me put him on another blossom.
I thanked him for allowing me to touch him.
The brambles (which are really wild roses) that drive me nuts redeem themselves once a year when they do this. These blossoms are everywhere right now.
Milkweed has shot up all over the property – soon to be blooming and providing a haven for Monarch Butterflies.
More of the pretty moth and the rocket flowers.
And more wild roses.
What a beautiful time of year.
I’m writing this post Thursday night because I’m planning on going to the Country Living Fair on Friday (and Saturday for a bit, as well.) I need to get up and going early. I promise to take lots of photos to share with you. The grass is mowed, the laundry is done, so I’m free as a bird.
Oh, I’ll also be posting on Instagram. If you want to follow along, go here and click Follow.
Happy Friday.
I have a rose, Claudia, that looks very much like the one in your photo. It’s been at the back fence for the (almost) 21 years I’ve lived here and who knows how long before that. Some years it’s grown wild and thorny and some years I’ve cut it back to nothing to preserve my skin. This year it was cut back and I’m attempting to control it with a trellis. It has a strong will to live and thrive and I’m looking forward to the blooms.
Enjoy the fair.
Karen
If it’s the kind of wild rose that I have, nothing can stop it. It will thrive.
Have fun at the Country Living Fair :) Our wild roses are not quite in bloom yet. Do you collect all the rose hips from the plants?
No, I should, but I don’t!
I’m always so impressed you know the names to so many things. Maybe you’re just not showing us the things you don’t know! Ha!
If I don’t know the name, I say so, in hopes that someone reading the post just might!
Love your photos…I don’t think we have wild roses here…never heard anyone talk about them.
A friend from church use to make rose hip jelly. Wonder what Dawn uses them for.
Hope you have a fantastic day, waiting to see the photos.
Photos will start coming on Sunday, Judy.
Beautiful Blooms! Enjoy your day! Can’t wait to see photos!!
Too tired to go through them – Sunday.

Even though they’re a pain in the tush, when they bloom, they’re gorgeous.
Very pretty!
Nature is pretty amazing!

I did, Tana. More tomorrow!
Great pictures…did not know brambles had blossoms! Sounds like a fun weekend you’ve got planned! Me…we are having a garage sale, started yesterday….interesting what people are buying and not buying! Enjoy your jaunt! ;)
Well, I call them brambles and they sure do prick, but I think the proper name is wild roses. I’ll have to check on that.
Have a wonderful time at the Fair, Claudia! Hope you find a treasure at a rock-bottom bargain price too!
No rock bottom prices at this fair, Janet!
Oh, I want to go to the Country Living Fair with you! I would love to go to one of those, but they are never in our neck of the woods. Your wild flowers are just gorgeous. Isn’t God amazing!
Have a great time!
Judy
I wish you could go with me, Judy!
