And Then There Were Two

November 4, 2011 at 5:30 am by Claudia

I told you I wanted another one. Now I can have one in the bedroom and one in the living room. This is my favorite piece in the old Petite Princess furniture line. It works beautifully in my shabby, eclectic dollhouse. What did I call this style? Something like Rustic Elegance? I’ll have to check my previous posts. If you’re interested in one of these, I’ve seen several up for auction on eBay.

I’m beginning to discover the exact time of day to photograph the dollhouse. Late afternoon here in the den, with the sun (hopefully) streaming in behind me, seems to cast the perfect light on the house.

I like taking photos of this miniature world.

Work on the dollhouse has stopped for the moment. I’m still waiting for my box to arrive with more beadboard and trim. Maybe it will arrive today – fingers crossed!

Here’s another neat photo taken late in the day:

And let’s not neglect the big house. It has its own late-in-the-day-photo.

I think living in the dollhouse would be more cost-effective.

Claudia, I love your term “Rustic Elegance”. Those little dressers are just exquisite. You don’t even have to do anything to them as far as I can see. I love how your house looks with the sun behind you. You are such a good photographer. I always enjoy your pics.

I wonder if I lost enough weight, if I could squeeze into your little house. I rather like it just the way it is!

Oh, I’m in love with what you’ve done in that doll house. I’m ready to move in, Claudia! Sometimes I wish I could move into a tiny world where all was in order and where cuteness reigned supreme. But I guess I would miss the messiness of the real world. Sigh.

I will have to go check out the giveaway. When I was visiting yesterday, I got interrupted and had intended to go read your review. Will had there right now.

    XO,

    Sheila

They are gorgeous – and that tiny wicker chair… sigh. I love it all. Now you’ve got me wondering where I could put a dollhouse in our tiny cottage. Hmmmmmmm.
    :)
    Have a happy one, Claudia!

I love the colors on the outside of your dollhouse! I was thinking of changing the outside color of mine but it had been painted before I put it all together, piece by piece. Not really an option. I am using your harlequin painted front porch as an inspiration. I would love to do that too. Not sure I would get the angle right. I have been watching a lot of youtube of making miniature food with the clay. I can’t believe how real some of it looks! ~Hugs, Patti

Welcome!

Welcome!

I live in a little cottage in the country with my husband. It's a sweet place, sheltered by old trees and surrounded by gardens. The inside is full of the things we love. I love to write, I love my camera, I love creating, I love gardening. My decorating style is eclectic; full of vintage and a bit of whimsy.

I've worked in the theater for more years than I can count. I'm currently a voice, speech, dialect and text coach freelancing on Broadway, off Broadway, and in regional theater.

Thanks for stopping by.
