Meredith is the best sister ever. And Little Z? Don and I have fallen in love with him. Have fun with your mom. It’s sunny here, too!

Love the pics of your things Claudia. I bet every time you pass the photo of your nephew it makes you smile, that little face is just precious. Isn’t it wonderful that you don’t have to spend a ton of money and hire an expensive decorator to make your home beautiful? My husband once said I could take a canvas tent and turn it into a home in three days. I think a big part of it is how our things make our homes feel. I want to feel like I’m surrounded by things I love, most of which have a story. That’s how your home seems to me.

Little Z is a magical child. He just is. No one can resist him, least of all, Don and me!

I agree. If you’re surrounded by what you love, your home will be warm and welcoming.

Love these kinds of posts! I have those exact same rugs!! Our dogs eat their treats,,,,, only when they are on those rugs. Constantly picking up the crumbs. Sweet Little Buddy!! I’m sure that makes you smile each time you give the picture a glance.
Happy reading today!! Our “S” is melting. Slowly but surely so we will once again have brown grass to graze upon ~ which I so favor over the white junk.

From what Mer tells me, he wins just about every heart out there! He’s amazing.

Yes, she blogs about him. You can check out her blog:

Scout is hanging in there. She has good days and not-so-good days. She’s a little achy right now.

Catching up to your last few posts. I wanted to say something about books and their storage. Of course you need the room for it and, like me, you’ve got a smaller place…we don’t have the big McMansions…but one thing I did was fill an old hutch with books. Like a lawyer’s bookshelves, with the pull-down glass ‘doors.’ Although, in this case, it’s a china closet and the glass doors open at the center and swing out wide. I actually saw this IN my lawyer’s office. She works out of her home and it’s a 1901 ‘mansion.’ She has a lot of her law-library books in gorgeous antique hutches, and I thought it was a great idea; also protects the books. My books have gone everywhere with me and my husband is tired of lugging them when we’ve moved but they are more important to me than clothes or other stuff. I’ve donated tons and sold tons, yet I keep accumulating more. It stems from childhood and a love of reading; we were taught to cherish books, and I do.

Yes, I know of these, but my china closets are holding my china and there is simply not room for another piece of furniture in this cottage! And I can’t give up my china, either!

That linen ‘laundry’ runner draped over the door to the den…? Makes me smile!

Welcome!

Welcome!

I live in a little cottage in the country with my husband. It's a sweet place, sheltered by old trees and surrounded by gardens. The inside is full of the things we love. I love to write, I love my camera, I love creating, I love gardening. My decorating style is eclectic; full of vintage and a bit of whimsy.

I've worked in the theater for more years than I can count. I'm currently a voice, speech, dialect and text coach freelancing on Broadway, off Broadway, and in regional theater.

Thanks for stopping by.
