Cottage8 Reveal in Monday

August 23, 2009 at 11:41 am by Claudia

Happy Sunday, everyone! We are feeling particularly lazy today – more humid, rainy weather here in the Hudson Valley. I have to rouse myself soon. There are things that need to be done! Thought I’d tell you about a reveal that will occur tomorrow. The lovely Jennifer of The Old Painted Cottage will reveal her newly renovated and decorated house – which she and her husband call Cottage8. Jennifer has impeccable style and taste and I, for one, can’t wait to see what she has done! She promises guests, gifts and fun – so stop on by.

Have a great day.

Pink Saturday

August 22, 2009 at 12:06 am by Claudia

It is Pink Saturday again – thank you to Beverly for keeping track of all of us every week! Please stop by the other participants’ blogs and leave a comment. It means so much when we get a comment from fellow participants…don’t just look…comment! Chances are the gesture will be returned.

I participated in my first swap this week. I know swaps are going on all the time in blogland, but I don’t always feel that I’m ‘crafty’ enough to participate. After seeing my little fabric hearts, my friend Elyse of Cottage suggested a swap and I thought it was time to face my fears! I received my package this week….oooh la la! Shall we open the box?

A sweet little note from Elyse. I must see what’s under the tissue paper!

Ah – what have we here?
Oh, such treasures! Let me give you some close-ups…
Look at these pretties!
Fashioned by Elyse and oh-so-lovely, with the prettiest pencil I’ve ever seen! Isn’t it perfect? I think it will reside in my ‘studio.’
Buttons, tags, trims, all sorts of fun things to create with!

Oooh! Elyse’s famous clip art! I have always wanted these! Look closely…do you see my name on two of the clips? And ‘Mockingbird Hill Cottage?’ Sigh! I love them. (Have you noticed Elyse’s flowered tissue paper? Everything matches!)

I love everything, Elyse. I can’t wait to play with my treats! By the way, Elyse has her own Etsy shop and you must stop by some time.

Have a great weekend, everyone!

The winner of the blog signature giveaway is Vicki of Bunny Cottage. Congratulations, Vicki! Please email me with your email address so that I can pass it along to Mandy. Anyone who is interested in a blog signature should visit Mandy’s Etsy shop – you will be pleasantly surprised how reasonable her prices are!

Catching Up on a Friday

August 21, 2009 at 9:16 am by Claudia

Happy Friday, everyone! It is humid here in the Northeast and although I love, love summer, I find myself thinking of crisp fall days with not a trace of humidity in the air. The garden is losing its prettiness and everything is looking just a bit droopy. Bless the impatiens in these tubs. They are dependable; blooming and blooming into the fall.

It is time for a little catching up. I’ve been neglecting to post about some awards I received. Here we go. First up, a thank you to Leeann of The Old Parsonage for this award.

Thank you Leeann!

Another thank you to Julie at Working on a Dream for two awards:

Thank you, Julie!

And, finally, thank you to Bunny of The Creative Hare for this award.

I’ve posted about this award before – thank you Bunny!

I am always so touched when I receive an award and am ever grateful that my fellow bloggers would think to honor me. Bless you. Since I have a well-known problem deciding just who to pass these awards on to (you are all so wonderful), I pass them on to all my creative blogging friends.

I forgot – the other day, Don and I were sitting in the living room and Riley calmly went over to the basket (on the floor) that we keep books in. One of those books is the aforementioned bird book. He put it between his teeth, picked it up and walked away with it. Don, amazed at what he was seeing, yelled “Hey!” – I then proceeded to grab the book and say “NO!” Riley looked hangdog. But then Don said that he thought Riley was picking the book up like a toy – because we have a basket of toys in the den that both dogs use. Duh! Of course! Why should Riley know that one is okay and the other is forbidden? So I gave him lots cuddles and we will just make sure the basket is out of temptation’s way before we leave the house!

Finally – don’t forget the giveaway! If you’ve missed the information for some reason, just scroll down to the previous post. You have until midnight tonight to enter. And you might just be the winner and get your very own blog post signature!

See you tomorrow for Pink Saturday and the giveaway winner!

Welcome!

Welcome!

I live in a little cottage in the country with my husband. It's a sweet place, sheltered by old trees and surrounded by gardens. The inside is full of the things we love. I love to write, I love my camera, I love creating, I love gardening. My decorating style is eclectic; full of vintage and a bit of whimsy.

I've worked in the theater for more years than I can count. I'm currently a voice, speech, dialect and text coach freelancing on Broadway, off Broadway, and in regional theater.

Thanks for stopping by.
