Grateful
Back in San Diego – long flight, long day, but I’m back safe and sound.
Being away from my family and community for so long is hard. That is an understatement. But getting the chance to go back and spend some time there sure puts things in perspective. I really have a sense of gratitude for my blessings:
~ my husband who is the love of my life – always supportive, always loving, my best friend and companion.
~ my dogs – their sweet faces warm my heart – their love is constant, their ability to live in the moment is something I am jealous of.
~ my cottage – I love it so – I waited a long, long time to have my own house and there is not a day that goes by that I am not profoundly grateful for it.
~ my family – they ground me – they love me with no reservations as I do them.
~ my friends both near and far – whether we are in touch once a year or every day.
~ the opportunity to work here in San Diego – using my skills to help others and doing what I do best.
~ all the possibilities, dreams and goodness in the universe.
~ my blog and all the wonderful friends I have made this last year – I treasure you.
A Surprise Gift
After a morning of packing, organizing, cleaning and saying goodbyes, my husband and I left for the airport. After a somewhat frustrating 20 minutes behind a school bus, we arrived at our little airport. Don kissed me and I waved goodbye at the entrance to the airport. The minute I went inside I saw “Delayed” on the flight departure board. My flight was delayed so long that I would be unable to catch my connecting flight in Philadelphia. After a long wait in line, I was told that my connecting flight to SD would have been the last one of the day. So new reservations were made for today, my husband turned around and picked me up and I was the lucky recipient of another day with my family! I called the stage manager involved with the show I am working on and we rescheduled my sessions for Friday. All is well. My attitude has been changed due to this little gift. I am ready to start my work in San Diego with a lighter heart.
I know this next bit isn’t all that exciting to most people, but it is to us~
Our new storm door! It sure adds a great finish to our entrance. See if you can see who was watching me as I took a picture:
It is Young Master Riley himself. He’s smiling because he can now check out the view.
Lets cross our fingers that there are no more flight delays today. I do have some work to do!
