This was taken about 5 years ago, so I look older now. But this captures my spirit; my silliness, my way of dressing, my smile. Don will be happy it shows my dimples.

Yes, today is my birthday. There was repeated sneezing during the night last night and some weird dreams, so I woke up feeling tired and edgy. But I’ll shake it off. I’m happy that I’m spending this day quietly with my husband, who will – as always – make this a beautiful day, despite the gray skies.

Thanks so much for being here. For spending some moments of the day on this blog that will be 18 years old in a few months. How can that be?

Praying for peace. For the return of morality and honor to the White House. For the removal of all that’s vile. That’s my birthday wish.

    I think it is a lovely picture… your smile is impish and you look happy! Our world has made women, in particular, so conscious of a need to look “beautiful” by an impossible standard so we all feel we fail all the time. In my book, older is not less beautiful. Happiness is Beauty, not the other way around!
    Enjoy your Birthday with your loving husband and just Be Happy!

    and i’m glad you were born and that somehow, in all the vast internet, our paths crossed, because you have shared many good things through mhc that have enriched my life and from which i have learned, laughed and smiled, cried, commiserated, found a break …. for all your beautiful photos (great one of you today by don), thoughtful words about the creative and interesting work/hobbies that you and don have done and do so well (that i may never do or have known about), book/movie recommendations, views on current events and life, support in my sadness and troubles, same from other friends in their own comment here, and more, from my heart i thank you.

    Sorry it’s a day late. Yesterday was Caturday for me as librarians work on Saturdays where I work & Friday is the day off. So it was spent paying attention 24/7 to the cutest cat ever (just google Wynadotte + Tuna + cat), he’s the ginger cat with the green bow tie. And lots of knitting as my feline-only vet has an open house/fund-raiser for the rescue kitties she helps. So I’ve been knitting lots of sock for feet in Christmas colors. Knit one pair last year to donate. This year I’ve knit 3 or 4 pair already. Mostly from Mary Maxim (online, but Michigan based so still count as a LYS). Ordered more yarn from Hobbii a better price than MM, so ordered but it’s coming from Denmark. So hopefully it’ll be fast. Glad you had the perfect birthday that you wanted.
