Don and I went to the beach yesterday. Two hours spent walking along the shore, hearing the sound of the surf, feeling the breeze, and most importantly, feeling our shoulders drop.
Oh heaven. Just heaven.
Glorious, right?
Loved this. A young Amish (or Mennonite?) couple walking along the beach.
Don loves Max. So do I.
Two boys.
Little Z was wearing his eye patch and playing on his iPad. He insisted I sit there with him. Don got this photo:
Oh, we’re having fun!
Today, we’re going to Dunedin, one of my favorite places around here. Mer is meeting a blogging friend for lunch and Don and I are going to explore.
It’s all good.
Happy Saturday.
Ah, family! The beach is good medicine. Over here we head for the Oregon coast for relaxation. It’s an 8 hour drive though so we don’t get to go very often. What sweet pictures of the boys and you and Don. Have a wonderful day in Duneden.
Blessings,
Betsy
We just got back. Very hot! But lovely.
Claudia,
This post makes me smile. I certainly do not know you personally, but I cannot think of anyone who needs this more than you and Don. I know your hearts have been and still are so heavy, but I know this has to do you such good.
Susan
We needed to get away and spending our vacation with loved ones is perfect.
It’s good to see you both smiling!
Big Texas Hugs,
Susan and Bentley
Thanks, Susan!
So happy to see you are having such a sweet time!
We are. We’re tired, but it’s a good tired.
Your trip looks like it is pure joy. So happy you are both having such a wonderful time. Have fun and enjoy each moment!!
We will, Chris!
I understand the shoulders dropping. Letting go of that stress and hurt as much as you can. I have always found the ocean healing to my soul. Hugs!!
Linda
The ocean is very healing. We will get back there a few more times before we leave.
The ocean looks wonderful. A place I need to visit soon. Have a wonderful day with love Janice
Thank you, Janice!
I echo the others: good to see you and Don smiling. And walking on the beach always helps!
I love Dunedin……we always go to a little gift shop on the main drag. Can’t think of the name of it now but it is crammed full w/wonderful “Florida” things like pink flamingos in all forms. (My parents live in nearby Palm Harbor; we always go to Dunedin and Tarpon Springs when we’re visiting.)
Enjoy!
Elle
Meredith lives very close to Palm Harbor, Elle. I know it well. When she was first married, she lived in Tarpon Springs.
A lovely chance for you and Don to at last relax together with your family in such beautiful surroundings. Happy for you dear – may each day be special.
Hugs – Mary
Thank you, Mary!
Love that pic of the two of you…that’s a keeper! ;)
Thank you, Donnamae!
Claudia and Don,
You are so nice, I’m happy for you.
Claude [France]
Merci, Claude!
What wonderful pictures! Doris
Thanks, Doris!
Looks wonderful! Have a great time.
We are, Carolyn Marie!
Healing to be with others…Little Z and Max….and to be in a different place. Enjoy exploring your favorite places. We’re having a series of very heavy rainstorms, which may or may not be helpful for our drought in the long run. The rains won’t fill the reservoirs, but the snowmelt will, if there’s plenty of wet snow, versus drier snow, in the Sierras. In the short run, At least I don’t have to turn on my irrigation system. I’ll brave the rain today to see Macbeth with Frances McDormand as Lady Macbeth. She’s one of my favorite actresses.
I sure hope the snowmelt fills those reservoirs, Wendy.
Beautiful photographs! I hope you both enjoy every moment of family and fun.
Claudia, It’s just so nice to see you and don relaxing and enjoying yourselves….You have both had a rough year and need this special time. I am happy for all of you. Little Z and his dog look so cute , Many blessings to all, xoxo, Susie
You two needed this; badly. Thanks for sharing some photos. What a beautiful dog! I loved seeing the beach pictures; looks so different from our SoCalif coast. Hope you had another terrific day today! Looks like a very nice house to be a guest in…and filled with wonderful people!
Your nephew is precious. What a happy boy full of love.
The beach is beautiful. So peaceful.
Enjoy : )
Monica
Love it all Claudia…it is so nice to see you and Don smiling again…
I forgot to tell you…the couple on the beach are Mennonite…I can tell by their clothing…we have many Amish and Mennonites around us here…
The beach can cure alot of ills – it’s my sanctuary. So glad to see you both relaxing and enjoying life.
