I was focusing on the butterfly – a Pearl Crescent – and didn’t notice the bee flying in until this morning.
Happy surprises.
Dolls today – first up:
Beautiful Mei in a new dress.
And my new BJD, from a creator called “eatzongzi” who also created Wren.
The doll as named by the creator, is Mengmeng. Her new name is Lily. She has teeth.
She’s a little taller than Wren. I’m struggling to find shoes that fit her as her feet are bigger than Blythe feet. But we’ll get there.
I love her sweet face.
Watching me start a new puzzle.
Wren is so happy to have a big sister who doesn’t tower over her.
I think some hair brushing is in order. (They’ve been playing.)
Every new girl is settling in. A moratorium on more dolls has been issued from the home office. The display space on the music cabinet is full up with Blythes. The BJD girls, Wren and Lily, are now hanging out on the porch of the dollhouse. But everyone seems happy.
Meredith feels pretty awful. Covid has hit her hard. Little Z, on the other hand, was sick for less than a day and then he was back to normal. I told Mere it was the Universe’s way of telling her to slow down. She needs rest and she’s getting it. xo
Stay safe.
Happy Thursday.

sorry for your sister and little z to have covid. glad little z is doing better and trust meredith will get there soon and in the meantime has ways (older sons, friends, stores) to safely get anything needed. i am praying for them all.
welcome to lily. fun to hear their stories, see the cute outfits and set-ups.
love your happy surprise of finding the bee in the photo of the butterfly. wondering if the butterfly stayed as it wanted or if it felt pressured to leave by the bee …?
enjoying an overcast start to the day here. been puttering, sorting mail, rearranging smaller things, hanging up a piece of art … will head over to visit members of my family. didn’t make potato salad yesterday so maybe today is a day for that.
hope you, don and everyone else have a nice day ahead. stay safe!

I know what happened. The bee started to land, the butterfly stayed there but moved to show him she was aware of him and the bee changed directions and landed on another flower.
Stay safe, Kathy.

hope you and don are having a nice night.

So sorry to hear your sister is having a difficult time. Thank God she has a good support system. Being a single parent is the most difficult job. No one can truly understand unless they have been there. I am sure you wish you could be there to help.
Claudia says
You mean while she has Covid? NO! I don’t want to get it.
But I wish we lived closer especially now. However, she has two grown sons who have girlfriends and lots of friends who support her, so she’s doing fine. We talk all the time.
Stay safe, Linda.

I was relived Little Z had such a light case and very sad that Mere is having such a hard time. She sounds, though, like despite the exhaustion and symptoms, she’s cherishing the downtime. Yes, slowing down sometimes happen whether we schedule it or not. You grab what good you can from the bad.
Lily is a little dear! So cute together. Love her shoes!
Claudia says
Thanks so much, Jeanie.
Stay safe.

So glad Little Z’s symptoms weren’t more severe, but so sorry for your sister. Prayers that they don’t linger.
You are such a good photographer! I love your flower and nature pictures!
Thanks as always for sharing!
Claudia says
Thank you so much, Melanie.
Stay safe.

Love Lily. She has a unique look! Beautiful photos from the garden. Hoping Meredith feels better soon but glad Little Z had a mild case. My Tiger had Covid and was over it in a day or two also. I’m trying to enjoy these hot days of summer and make myself rest.
Claudia says
I haven’t checked in with Mere yet, but just texted her to see how she’s feeling today.
Stay safe, Linda.

Wren and Lily have that ‘I’m innocent’ look….it’s precious.
Sorry to hear Meredith’s not doing well. So strange how Covid hits different people in different ways. At least she will be forced into getting some much needed rest.
We’ve had unexpected rain two nights in a row here, and today, it’s gorgeous. Windy, sunny, with low humidity. I have a zucchini that my DIL brought over that’s crying out to transformed into zucchini bread…but….there are weeds to pull. So weed I must. Enjoy your day!
Claudia says
Yes, they do. Wide-eyed and innocent.
We had one day of reprieve and now we’re back to very hot, very humid weather. It’s terrible here.
Stay safe, Donnamae.

Love the first photo! Happy surprise indeed! :)
Hot & humid here, heat index of 103 at the moment and may peak at 109 today. :(
Did a bit of weeding earlier this morning, and the afternoon will be spent inside reading.
Stay safe & well.
Claudia says
Same here. Maybe not quite as hot, but the heat index is in the nineties and it’s very, very humid.
Stay safe, Amy.
Tana says
Hope Meredith feels better soon. Hard to take care of a child when you feel bad. Saying a prayer for her! How great that Z is doing so well! Love the new girl! They do look cute sitting on the porch. Still have at least three more days of this terrible heat! But our kitchen stays cool with an AC unit, and that is a real blessing. You and Don take care.
Claudia says
I hate the heat and humidity, Tana. Stay cool, my friend.
Stay safe.
Lily says
Love the butterfly and bee photo!
And love your new girl, especially her name. :)
Claudia says
It’s a very nice name, Lily!
Stay safe.

Catching up to a couple of days of posts and so sorry to read that your sister got Covid. I hope she can start feeling better soon!
I saw one of my doctors today (first time in nine months with this one) and he just returned from a vacay in Costa Rica, but he reminded me that I don’t have his (he’s probably about age 50) and his family’s good health (none of them have risk factors; healthy and fit; although they were never without an N95 mask in or out of the country, on the planes or in the airports).
He said the BA5 is incredibly contagious. And my County’s numbers are BAD.
His office is in a very-large, 5-story medical building with TONS of people milling about; 25 patients alone (including me) outside his double doors (I was able to distance, but was nervous); the building includes an urgent care on the first floor. And, wow, they are NOT fooling around. I couldn’t step one foot inside the building from outside without three people descending on me with forehead-temperature thing, questionnaire, ‘okay’ badge to proceed, etc. I was glad they were super-careful. Drawn out on the floorspace again (illustrations, signs, things reminiscent of orange traffic cones), as if we were back in 2020, these ‘routes’ you have to walk, in and out of the building’s lobby, so that people coming, don’t mix with people going.
It took me FOREVER to go between floors, waiting for an elevator … as they were stringent in their requirement of no more than three people to an elevator. I nearly took the stairs due to the endless waiting.
You can’t even remove your mask during an exam. I caught the RN nearly in tears because somebody had been giving her ‘attitude’ about it.
Despite being grateful for the many precautions, I was so glad to get home. (Although I have to go there again next week to see ANOTHER of their many doctors [but at least now, I know their current-new ‘routines’ for navigating the location].)
Claudia says
Thanks, Vicki.
Stay safe!
