Just thought I’d show you the contrast. The girls have the same OB22 body, but the head sizes are very different.
Jessie’s head is pretty close in size to a Blythe head. Obviously, Ruby’s is much smaller.
I love this brown hair, dark eyed look. I’m always drawn to it. I suppose that’s because I have the same color combination. Or had. It’s now gray hair and dark eyes. Sigh. I miss my brown hair.
Okay. Wednesday was rather insane in terms of the blog. I posted fairly early in the morning. As time went by, I noticed I had no comments, which isn’t the norm. Finally, around noon, I tried leaving a comment and I kept getting a message: This site has a critical error. Okay. I tried the usual things; disabling the plugins to see if there was a conflict, then turning them back on, one by one. Nope. Still had the error. Tried rebooting the site. Nope. Finally, I called my host and a technician fixed it – I’m not sure what he did. But then he said he had run a scan and the site had been hacked (infected with malware.) I was stunned. This has never happened in the time I’ve been with a server and that’s been at least 13 years. He sent me a copy of the files that were altered. The only thing I’d done differently lately was insert some YouTube videos, so I wondered if that had introduced some malware on the backend, because I’m notified if someone manages to sign in to my site and I knew that hadn’t occurred. So I contacted my security company and they ran a check and said they’d cleaned it up. But their response was their standard response and I wanted to know exactly what had been done. So I asked them for more information. In the meantime, I removed all the YouTube videos and edited the posts to include my channel name on YouTube and the name of each video I highlighted, so that readers would have the information and be able to watch the videos on YouTube itself.
The next day, I received a message from another technician and he said he had investigated it thoroughly and the files had not been infected with malware, there had been no hack. It was just a false positive.
Obviously, I was greatly relieved! But it was a crazy 24 hours and it showed in Wednesday’s post, as I kept going back and editing it to let you know what was happening.
Moving forward, I will post a link in the future that will take you directly to my YouTube channel. I think that will work out. Better safe than sorry.
You can see why keeping this blog going is expensive. I pay a yearly fee for the hosting company, a yearly fee for my main security company, a fee for a company to back up my blog posts, so I don’t lose them – and there’s more. But, when something goes wrong, I’m very grateful they’re there.
Today, we are in the middle of yet another “Wind Advisory.” You know how I feel about that. Spring, please get here. I’ve had it with this nonsense.
Trying to maintain my sanity.
Stay safe.
Happy Friday.
Claudia, that was quite a process with your blog. I had posted and it wouldn’t go through because of the error. Ruby is darling. I’m sure she fits in so well. I like her coloring, too. Love the little curl in the middle! We had a wind advisory the other day, and yesterday we actually had a dusting of snow on some of the hills. I’m ready for some warmer days. Take care.
Oh, so am I. I’m really tired of all this and another big branch is down in our yard.
Stay safe, Barrie.
That’s creepy, Claudia. With all that is going on in DC, it certainly is unsettling. Glad you got it straightened out and hope you stay safe.
Blog stuff happens. And it’s been more than a few years since I’ve had any problems at all.
Stay safe, Ellen.
Thanks for posting that pic of the girls…what a difference in size that I had not realized, without the picture.
I had looked at your last post in the morning, but got interrupted before I could watch the tour. When I went back in the afternoon, there was no link. I did manage to find you on YouTube somehow, and subscribed in case whatever happened, happened again. Tour was great, btw. Glad you got everything straightened out…must’ve been so frustrating for you.
We had two extremely windy days…you have my sympathies. That’s always unnerving to me. Saw my first red-winged black bird the other day…Spring is coming. Enjoy your day! ;).
Very frustrating! I’ve been spoiled the last few years. I had no blog problems.
Glad that you see signs of spring coming!
Stay safe, Donnamae.
No wonder I kept getting error messages when I tried to post a comment! Hope this doesn’t happen again for many years to come.
Jessie and Ruby’s head sizes are so radically different but each fits its body so well. I’m sure the person(s) who developed Blythe dolls didn’t realize how fans would be so creative in changing faces, heads, joints!
I’m absolutely sure she never thought that there would be artists who customized the basic Blythe doll. It’s really quite amazing!
Thanks, Wendy.
Stay safe.
Ruby and Jessie look so sweet together. They have such expressive little faces. I enjoyed the tour of your dollhouse, Claudia. You have such talent. Glad you got your blog problem solved. Happy weekend to you and Don. Hugs, Elaine
Thank you so much, Elaine.
Glad you enjoyed the tour.
Stay safe.
Ruby is so cute, adorable clothes and hair. I watched the dollhouse tour when it was still up. So many clever details and “inventions.” My favorite room was the den.
Thank you, Lynda.
Stay safe.
sorry you’ve had such a hassle and worry, but you persevered and took care of it! good for you, claudia, and very impressive to me (i’m not anti-tech, just not a computer whiz by any stretch of the imagination). now please go do something fun and relaxing. :)
welcome home to sweet little miss ruby. adorable!
i was taking a break from a very long to-do list, looked at the cross-stitch project for my oldest niece and found a problem. seems i stitched part of a large snowman from left to right, then did the rest of it from right to left and it’s obvious that change in direction and how the embroidery floss travels on the back make it look glaringly different on the front. according to the gridded pattern, that’s about 400 stitches to cut out and re-do. ugh. i could use something to be easy right about now.
i do have my taxes done (by a cpa about ten days ago) and am getting refunds so that feels good.
hope you, don and everyone else have a good and easy weekend ahead and stay safe and that the tax filings are in your favorite.
xo,
kathy
We have filed an extension. We have a new tax person this year as our favorite tax preparer retire at the end of last year. We’d been with her 26 years. But Don knows our new CPA and has known her for years. So that’s good!
Stay safe, Kathy.
sorry you had to get a different one after 26 years, but it’s good / i’m glad that don knows your new cpa. and if needed that you could get an extension. may the numbers be in your favor!
hope you both have a nice weekend.
kathy

I know I tried several times to leave a comment and finally figured something was wrong and you would get notified. Glad it’s fixed. Yes all this technical stuff can get me crazy. Still waiting on a Pulmonary Evaluation the end of this month and hoping we can find some answers to my breathing issues. I never smoked which is in my favor but Covid did a lot of harm to my body. So just staying as positive as I can but some days it’s really hard. Always enjoy your blog my sweet friend and your videos are super fun! Take care.
Oh, Linda. I’m so sorry you have to deal with this. Covid is terrible and anyone who doesn’t believe that it can do major damage is deluded. Stay positive, Linda, and we’ll all be praying for you. Love to you. xoxo
Stay safe.
Claudia,
Love the girls. Such sweet faces.
We had torrential rains the other night….well we woke up to a leak that took us an hour to figure out where it came from…involving climbing into the attic crawlspace with flashlight and heater to dry out. Husband fixed it but it could have been a sit com. We weren’t laughing then but now we can laugh about it.
The sun is shinning but the wind is merciless. We took a ride to the water and the our three swans are now two. Baby flew the coop.
We feel “empty nest” syndrome.
Take care,
Maria
Oh, this wind. I’ve had it with wind!
Hang in there, Maria.
Stay safe.
I hear you about the wind. Ours hasn’t been too bad today but we had a wind advisory a day or two last week. I walked outside a little this evening and there are lots of limbs down. Most of them aren’t too big, thankfully. Our sixteen year old grandson is on spring break next week and wants to come and stay with us. He loves to come down and work on the farm. He’ll be great help in picking up all those limbs!
I love the dolls. Ruby is so cute. Ruby was my mother’s name. She passed away Mar. 13, 2023. I miss her. My mother’s hair was a reddish brown in her younger days and she had deep turquoise eyes (I have her coloring) so she wasn’t like your Ruby in that way but, she had the same name. I love that!
Sorry you had so much trouble with the blog yesterday. I am sure that was very frustrating. I spent the day going to the doctor again. Only to find out that surgery on my foot is the only way to stop the pain and the only thing I can do if I want to keep walking. This is because of one of the many injuries from the car wreck last May. I am trying to hold off until we can at least get the gardens planted. So, like you, I am ready for spring….in more ways than one!
Take care,
Lorinda
I’m sorry about the need for surgery, Lorinda.
Yes, bring on Spring!
Stay safe.
Your blog might be costly, but it brings us so much joy! Thanks. The doll you did up is really good. I
I’ve been taking some meds that have made me really anxious. Its getting figured out and I can quit. Seemed like I cried all yesterday.
Gotta go clean up the dog pee on the carpet and give little dory a bath. She got a little too close to a skunk. I found a homemade recipe and I hope it works. Then I’ll relax and watch TV. But not the news!
Not the news, for sure.
Stay safe, Irene.
Lord, I had no idea what all went into maintaining a presence on the internet. Our oldest works for a company that services computer systems for companies and municipal offices and writes codes to set up systems for new clients’ needs.
I’ve heard him on the phone when someone calls from their office with a problem they need fixed immediately and he is so sweet and patient with them. He’s also his mom’s chief technical adviser LOL. In fact, he’s coming by tomorrow to meet our new kitty Gracie and I have a couple laptop issues to take up with him.
Wow, Ruby really is a little pixie.
Take care,
Kay
She is. I’m sort of crazy about her!
Stay safe, Kay.
That’s a major ordeal. I’m glad you got things settled — she persisted! Well done on that one. But how awfully creepy and annoying. It’s fun seeing the difference between the girls.
Well, it turned out to be not creepy, but for about 24 hours there, I thought it was.
Stay safe, Jeanie.
