Oh, how true! I framed the poster I received from Ruth at The Beautiful Life. The frame is white, although it is a bit hard to see since the wall is off-white – plus, you can see my reflection! My husband wants to hang this on the stair landing in place of the Guardian Angel. So, we’ll give it a try. I think he wants to strike a balance between all the vintage things we have and some more modern graphics. He has good taste, so I will follow his lead.
I did what I call the ‘loop’ yesterday. I drove down to IKEA and then on the way back hit Trader Joe’s. This is a day long endeavor since both stores are south of us in New Jersey. Oh, I love IKEA – I bought a few things we needed but I got out of there much faster than normal. I had places to go. I had to buy both of us new Day Planners, look for replacement ear buds for my iPod, and buy some necessaries at Trader Joe’s. All in all, a good and productive day.
I thought I would give you a ‘shabbifying’ update. The coffee table that Marsha sent me started out like this:
Still a work-in-progress, but I’m having fun. I also received a new tool in the mail, recommended by my friend and miniaturist-extraordinaire, Linda Carswell.
The Easy Cutter is great for cutting wood and mitering corners and a whole lot of other things that I have yet to discover. Linda was very gracious when I asked her what to use in this new hobby of mine and gave me her favorite tool recommendations. If you haven’t been to her blog, Une Petite Folie, you must visit. She built her gorgeous, amazing dollhouse from scratch and her work is simply exquisite.
I’m off to clean the bathrooms – my least favorite job in the world. Actually, I’m only doing a bit of a clean-up, since bathrooms are officially my husband’s job. Oh, Don…where are you?

Oh Sweetie…
That coffee table is so great. Isn’t it funny what a little bit of white does to the drabbest darn things? I love it.
Did you say Trader Joe’s? Oh we have them out here too, and I so love that store. My gosh it always smells good, cuz they always have something good cookin to taste. Or great coffees and teas to try. I love it there. Why I even have been known to grace my table with some of their flowers. L-O-V-E, love it store.
How are the roads there today? Still snowy or clearing off? We are in for another 70’s day. Gotta love it. This is my favorite time of year here. We really don’t have Spring, we jump right in to Summer Heat. Short seasons or No seasons here.
Have a beautiful day sweetie. Oh and I so love your poster. Isn’t that just the sweetest thing ever?
Country hugs sweetie…Sherry

The table turned out really cute!!
Great tool! My most invaluable tool are my mag eyes! A great source for tools is Micro-Mark. I have a little saw and miter box (about six inches long). And years ago at Resotration I found this hammer that’s about 8 inches long and if you unscrew the top inside is a small screwdriver, then smaller, then smaller all the way down to teeny tiny! You’re going to need a little toolbox to hold all your tools!!
((Hugs))

Oh I see the tool collection has begun lol.
MicroMark is a good place for suitably sized tools for us.
The table looks great all shabbied up…I love aging things.
Poster is cool as well :-)

You’ve got quite the husband if he does bathrooms. Does he do windows? I need my windows done. Your coffee table has just the right amount of shabbifying. I’m beginning to think I may eventually want to find a doll house. Oh, where on earth to put it? But I would have TWO house to decorate!

loving this post!!! you are a girl after my own hate to clean bathrooms too heart!!
i love your poster. i love coffee and i love blogs….the two are a perfect pair!!
i just had my first trip to trader joe’s last weekend when i visited my mom. i looked so dumb there taking photos of packages with my iphone, but their pink sugar bag was so cute and the lady fingers with the victorian graphics…well…i couldn’t stop myself.
i like IKEA okay, but it is NOT the place to take a toddler. last time we went there, zoey was too little for the playroom, so she climbed all over every couch and then went the wrong way against traffic getting out of there and made shoppers mad. it’s like you can’t get out of that place!!! if a fire strikes in IKEA…you are doomed.
love the little doll mini table too. very sweet.
i’m off to sew instead of cleaning something. i’m tired of cleaning stuff and sewing is way more fun!!
take care

Oh your poster is a kick! You did an awesome job on the table…love that shabby look! I was just at IKEA a couple of days ago. I had to be careful because my little VW bug would look just like the yellow bug in the IKEA commercials! It’s always a treat to visit your blog.
