Broadway, Flowers & Blinders

June 9, 2017 at 8:56 am by Claudia

The lamium ‘dead nettle’ has more blooms this year than I’ve ever seen. Bees love it. There is a lot of purple in my garden at the moment.

But some red is showing itself:

I mowed yesterday and the day before and now I’m all caught up. Tired, but caught up. Some weed whacking is on the docket for today and some general garden cleanup.

I watched the hearing yesterday and was riveted. Then I reported the details to both my sister and Don, neither of whom could watch it live. That was followed by a scan of twitter where I once again learned that some people are capable of comprehending the truth while others keep their blinders firmly in place. Hey, a little willful ignorance never hurt anybody, but choosing to remain there while being confronted with evidence that is incontrovertible is very troubling.

Tomorrow, as you know, is Hamilton  day and I’m very excited. The weather forecast had been predicting rain but now it’s going to be sunny and in the eighties. Not that it matters once I’m in the theater, but being able to walk around Manhattan without an umbrella is a good thing.

I also have to spend a couple of days on Anastasia sometime soon. Not sure when yet, but I was alerted by Darko and the Stage Manager last night. By the way, the Original Broadway Cast Album is out today!

Happy Friday.

Your photos of your flowers are beautiful. Summer has finally come here. Yuck. I watched the hearing yesterday too. It was riveting. And it was interesting to read the different views that was taken from it. I hope that you have an enjoyable day tomorrow. We get to play with plumbing tomorrow.

It’s a nice sunny day here and so I’ll enjoy it!! Got a great Happy Birthday video from my Grands and lots of well wishes including one from you :) It’s a good day even if I am turning 67! I’m having lunch with a friend then Mom and I are picking up her new car (which I drive). She can’t get in and out of her Rav-4 easily so we just got a new Camry. Nice car! Tomorrow a family dinner in honor of my birthday.

I was unable to watch the hearings yesterday but from all I read it was riveting. Oh the blinders that some have on continue to amaze me. I can’t wrap my head around it all sometimes. Enjoy your Friday and tomorrow Hamilton!! Hugs!

Catching up with chores is always good. Leaves you time for more enjoyable pursuits. I read a post on another blog where the family has to mow 50-60 acres of grass on a regular (every week or so) basis. Wow. They must like a very groomed piece of land. Excited for you to be seeing Hamilton. Have fun!

Yikes! That’s a lot of grass to mow. I hope that multiple family members are helping accomplish that.

Gosh have you had a wonderful week! I think I missed the drift that Hamilton was coming up THIS soon; can’t wait to hear you describe it and I hope you have a lovely time and a good trip into Manhattan. I’ve always thought you have quite a vibrant and exciting life, Claudia. I like that you get out there and LIVE it! You’re very active and productive. It’s inspiring.

One of my brothers came over to watch the hearings with George and I. We were almost silent, not wanting to miss a word.

I scan headlines from lots of news sources just to keep up with what information the right and the left are disseminating, to try to understand the great divide in this country. Fox News is all about assassinating Comey’s character. I most certainly questioned the wisdom of his decisions last year, but I never doubted his veracity.

Tomorrow, you’ll get to immerse yourself in another political environment, one that will perhaps be more elevating than our current one!

I hope you have a wonderful time tomorrow! Enjoy every minute!!

We are to be in the 90’s for the next 4 days. So early for those temps. Want to get all my yard work done before 10 AM tomorrow. Dragging the hose is a daily job now. (1000x better than a snow shovel.) The flowers do depend upon us!!

Again, have a great time at Hamilton!

Welcome!

Welcome!

I live in a little cottage in the country with my husband. It's a sweet place, sheltered by old trees and surrounded by gardens. The inside is full of the things we love. I love to write, I love my camera, I love creating, I love gardening. My decorating style is eclectic; full of vintage and a bit of whimsy.

I've worked in the theater for more years than I can count. I'm currently a voice, speech, dialect and text coach freelancing on Broadway, off Broadway, and in regional theater.

Thanks for stopping by.
