Glory Hallelujah! Tiny little buds on the crabapple by the catalpa. I see light at the end of the tunnel.
Also:

Our little grape hyacinth is blooming right by the porch.
The daffodils that were in bloom are sagging because of two nights of freezing temperatures.
Today: 70 degrees. I can finally get out and start cleaning up the yard and the garden beds. There’s a lot to do out there, so I’ll take it slow, but boy oh boy, I am READY!
I feel that quickening that I get when I realize that we’ve made it through the winter and spring is finally here. My neighbor called the other night about some mail of ours that she received and at the end of the call we commiserated about just how hard a winter it was. Really hard. Their son, who was in the terrible motorcycle accident, is doing well. He only has one more surgery to go – in his shoulder – and he will be fully healed.
But other friends of ours are struggling. One just had a stroke. And our dear friend who was hit by the car is greatly improved but will never fully recover from her injuries. She is in her late 70s.
Work on the dollhouse is on pause while I attend to the outdoors. I also need to buy some more stain for the floors and I haven’t done that yet. And choose some more wallpaper. But, that will have to wait until we have some more funds.
Okay, my friends.
Stay safe.
Happy Friday.

I celebrate every little bloom I see. I even got out in my yard yesterday to do some gardening and I’m hoping to do a better job of getting out there when the weather permits. We are supposed to have a lot of rainy days in the next week but at least the grass and plants will be happy.
Yes. We do need rain at this time of year.
Thanks, Ellen.
Stay safe.
I’m right with you Claudia! I was raking the debris off my gardens yesterday (only for a carefully timed hour so I didn’t overdo it) The birds are singing and the grass is greening… I planted my pansies last Friday (optimistic I am!) and then we got the obligatory 1 inch of snow the other night. The pansies survived, they always do… but they looked so forlorn under the snow. April does this… jerks back and forth… it is supposed to get up to the eighties next week! Not ready!
But every new blossom is treasured! Enjoy the fresh air outdoors!
Yes! 80s is too soon, but we are supposed to get those temps.
Stay safe, Betsy
hooray for nicer weather allowing you to be able to do some gardening. enjoy every minute!
wonderful news about your neighbors’ son recuperating so well and another friend getting better after that car accident. sorry for another friend having a stroke … awful. prayers continue.
here, we had lots of rain yesterday. for several years, most of our rain and snowfalls seemed to happen after dark, overnight, and we’d maybe get half of the precipitation that was forecast … but yesterday it rained steadily from about 1 pm until at least 8 pm, so i could see it and i sure enjoyed it! :)
hope everyone has a good, safe day.

Our friend has healed but will never have the mobility she had. It’s a real struggle for her to get around.
Glad you got to see an appreciate the rain, Kathy!
Stay safe.
i’m sorry that her mobility hasn’t fully returned for your friend, and will keep her in prayers.
mobility is so impactful in our lives, isn’t it? along with other blessings, may it never be taken it for granted.

Lovely to see your pretty signs of spring 💐. You don’t want to overdo the garden work. Enjoy your weekend. Hugs, Elaine
Worked for a little less than 90 minutes. I was quite tired by then, so I stopped for the day.
Thanks, Elaine!
Stay safe.
Ah! The beauty of spring and a warm day. We won’t be that warm today but I will be raking out beds (if you can call them that!) and picking up downed sticks. It’s very satisfying!
Started raking, but I have a lot of ground to cover. So there will be much more to go.
Thanks, Jeanie.
Stay safe.
