Home Away From Home Peonies

May 25, 2009 at 3:55 pm by Claudia

My peonies back home will be blooming in about a week or so. How I love them ~ being away from my garden during this part of Spring is hard, so hard. Thank goodness for Trader Joe’s ~ as I was shopping the other day, I noticed some peonies for sale, still in bud form. Crossing my fingers that they would bloom, I brought them home. They are glorious!

If I could have peonies year round, I would! Unfortunately these beauties grace us for a few weeks or so and then leave until next year. Oh, they are wondrous!

Peonies

June 4, 2008 at 11:53 am by Claudia

They’re blooming! Like clockwork, the first week of June brings the lush beauty of newly opened peonies. Thank you to the unknown previous owner of this house who planted these beautiful babies. What pleasure they bring all these years later!

The porch has been swept, cleaned and straightened after my furniture refinishing project. It is a somewhat gray, rainy day – maybe the perfect day to sit on the glider and read. I’m currently reading The Time Traveler’s Wife by Audrey Niffennegger. It was recommended to me by an actress I worked with in San Diego who insisted I borrow her copy. What a lovely, moving novel. I recommend it highly. I must finish it so that I can return it with great thanks when I fly back to the West Coast next week.

I’m off to read!

Welcome!

Welcome!

I live in a little cottage in the country with my husband. It's a sweet place, sheltered by old trees and surrounded by gardens. The inside is full of the things we love. I love to write, I love my camera, I love creating, I love gardening. My decorating style is eclectic; full of vintage and a bit of whimsy.

I've worked in the theater for more years than I can count. I'm currently a voice, speech, dialect and text coach freelancing on Broadway, off Broadway, and in regional theater.

Thanks for stopping by.
