What a crazy day yesterday! Lots and lots of rain (the snow is pretty much gone today) and high winds starting in the early evening and going on all through the night. It’s quiet this morning, thank goodness. And a lot colder. We may get some more snow on Tuesday. It would be nice to have some snow on the ground for Christmas.
I’m trying to honor some of your photo requests. That’s why I posted the dollhouse pictures yesterday. I had another request for another picture of our Christmas tree. Here it is.

A daytime photo. I’m sure I’ll be sharing a few more photos in the coming days, including some closeups of the ornaments.

The little tree in the studio. I think I got this at Target years ago. I had to be in Hartford for the holiday season and I needed some holiday cheer in my apartment.

Santa is on the porch of the Folk Art dollhouse. (Made by Vintage by Crystal.)

The puzzle I started yesterday. You’re thinking: “It’s Christmas time, Claudia, not Easter.”
Yes, you’re right. But I got this puzzle for half off and I love sheep and rabbits and vintage. And I love this image from John Derian. It makes sense now, doesn’t it?
The sun is shining, a very welcome sight.
Stay safe.
Happy Saturday.

Well….since the sheep does have a red collar on, it does qualify to be in the Christmas category lol. It’s cute.
Your tree is lovely…..the shape is just perfect! We finished decorating our tree yesterday…and put up the last garland in the kitchen. So now it’s just baking cookies, and then I can sit back and truly enjoy. Unfortunately, our snow is also melting, and there is no snow in the forecast. So it looks like a green Christmas for us.
I love the Santa on the porch….he’s so unique. Enjoy your day! ;)
Thanks. He’s by Vintage by Crystal. I have several of her spun cotton creations.
Stay safe, Donnamae.
your explanation makes sense. also, we have Easter because of Christmas! :)
it all looks beautiful, claudia. am sure it feels beautiful, too … warm, comfortable, comforting … seeing all those decorations, especially in the cold and windy weather. hope you get some snow for Christmas.
i’d like some snow, too, but that won’t happen here this Christmas. it might reach 55 degrees that day. :o one good thing about that temperature is traveling will be easier for a lot of people.
doing a little bit of a lot of things today. working on “have-to” stuff first, looking forward to some knitting while maybe watching a movie. last night some hard-to-find yarn was delivered so i can finally finish a hat, and then focus on a couple bigger things … including dishcloths for a special housing project now being built for young adults in need of extra help (semi-independent living in studios, with on-site staff there. started by a former gang member from chicago who changed his life, moved here, set up an “alternative” high school and survived being shot a couple years ago and seeing two of his students killed in that same shooting). i want to support that.
hope you, don and everyone else have a nice weekend, stay safe and are as ready as need be for winter weather and the holidays.
kathy
Very good organization to support, Kathy. What an inspiring story!

Charming pictures today, Claudia. Glad the wind has died down. It’s windy here, too. Your tree is beautiful 🎄. We’re decorating ours today. We’re a little late getting ours up but then we can enjoy it longer. Have a great weekend.
Hugs, Elaine
Thanks, Elaine.

Claudia that tree is perfect! What a nice shape. I can even smell it! We are in the process of moving our tree to another spot because we are having a couch delivered today. It will look a little cluttered until we take the tree down. Hope I like it when it gets here. I just saw your miniature houses. Where did you get that chair in the Lake House? I love that pattern! Well, off to get some cleaning done. Take care!
I got the chair on eBay a few years back, Deb.
Enjoy your new sofa!

Your tree looks terrific!
Stay safe and cozy!
Thank you, Ellen! You, too!

Your tree is beautiful. It really is the perfect shape. I like that Santa is visiting the little house!
I do, too!
Thanks so much, Leslie!
Gorgeous tree! Both the tree and decorations.
Thank you, Terri!

I adore the photo of Santa at the Folk Art dollhouse, there is a Christmas story there. Perhaps one of your girls is in the house, waiting for Santa.
I just finished reading “The Correspondent” by Virginia Evans. It is staying with me, I keep going over different parts in my mind. It was a good book..
We have had rain here , too. The ski resorts have little snow but I are able to blow some. during the night.
Take Care,
Kaye
Thank you, Kaye.

I love your Christmas tree as well as the lovely Easter puzzle. Also, the dollhouse pictures from yesterday were so charming as always. I’m glad they all have Christmas trees! Wishing you and Don a wonderful Christmas.
Thank you so much, Jenny.
Merry Christmas!

Hi. I loved the last post where you shared the miniature house. It’s just so creative, a small girl’s dream and a mid-aged imagination at play. I haven’t read all the comments or anything. It’s late now, 1:30 a.m. and I’m super tired, super in pain. Gotta get some sleep. I’m exhausted by the smallest tasks. I do everything that’s necessary and then sleep. I always want to just stay here in bed. I’m starting to pray for myself.
But this is such a hard time for my art friend who has two very sick grandchildren. No answers as to what’s wrong with either, well, 7 yr old Miles has cancer, they do know that much. Poor Raye and her grandchildren at Christmas time. The kids are both in different hospitals in BC and AB.
I want to continue helping Dad. My sister told me that things would be figured out. Poor old Dad, I love him to death and I think this winter will be very hard on him.
Friday we had an awful wind storm! Trees were down, highways closed, everybody told to stay at home. Mike was home early from work. Just as soon as the storm was here (with just a bit of snow), it was over and we went to Home Depot. Did our wind come up from New York?
Wishes for less pain for you and for your friends, Irene. Peace to you all.

I love John Derian’s work but I’ve never seen the puzzles. That’s fabulous! Your trees are beautiful as is the dollhouse and Crystal’s Santa is perfect there! All jolly wishes for a Merry Christmas!
Thanks, Jeanie. By the way, it’s a very, very hard puzzle!
Merry Christmas to you and yours.
