Congestion-Head

October 20, 2021 at 10:12 am by Claudia

The puzzle I’m taking with me to Brooklyn. Perfect, I think, as The Strand is one of my favorite bookstores. I was heartened to see that the New York Puzzle Company has some new New Yorker puzzles for this year. I was worried that I had already completed all of the puzzles I found interesting and they are my favorites to work on.

Good news for the coming winter!

I’m under the weather today. Whether it’s allergies or sinus, I’m not sure, but the sneezing continued for most of the day yesterday and I’m constantly blowing my nose. I slept about 8 hours last night – something that is a rarity these days – so that helps. I ended up taking yesterday off and I’ll do the same today so that I can get this thing out of my system sooner rather than later. Better now than when I have to be on the set!

I finished The Lantern Men  yesterday, mostly because I felt like crap and stayed in my chair reading. I have the latest Elly Griffiths arriving today. It’s in hardback, but the hardback (I admit it, I got it through Amazon) is priced the same as a paperback. And all of you fans know that she has a new one coming out next year, right? Good news!

Don is running errands this morning – I need some soft Puffs because my skin is very sensitive and blowing my nose continuously makes my nose and face red, some cough drops, some Benadryl, that kind of thing. And some sugar-free chocolates, my one and only food indulgence these days.

Okay. I’m going to rest.

Stay safe.

Happy Wednesday.

I find that a menthol cough drop placed in a cup of hot tea is very soothing. Sipped slowly, it is as if the menthol is aerosolized and it permeates your sinuses. Always works for me.

    Feel better,
    Anne

Lousy timing for congestion-head considering all the things you need to do before you leave. But, better this week than next week I trust. Hope you feel better soon! ;)

Take good care of yourself. The old commercial added “’cause you belong to me.” Substitute “Don” and you have the best reason for doing so, because you belong to someone other than you. It’s convoluted, but isn’t life just as? :)

    Be well.

Make sure you look after yourself and get plenty rest best before you have to be in Brooklyn.

The New Yorker puzzle looks like a homage to the 1962 cover of a young woman in a bookshop which is a jigsaw that we both have done.

    Happy Wednesday

I enjoy doing jigsaws too, Only I do them online so I can do 5 a day and just keep moving. Also I like to do crosswords. They probably keep the brains cells active.

I feel your pain, Claudia. I’m dealing with sinus infection right now and I know how frustrating they are an how awful one feels with one. I adore your new puzzle. It’s perfect for you and for the times. My copy of The Lantern Men has been shipped. I hope it’s as good as the others!

Have you ever tried Throat-Coat tea? I find that it really helps!! Also, Vicks now makes a large tablet you put on the shower floor & it fills the area wonderfully to help you breathe!! Just a couple of thoughts…oh, yes, & rest!!! The very best thing of all! Feel better & take care!

Oh yes. As a singer and voice teacher, I’ve used throat coat a lot over the years. But my throat isn’t bothering me. That Vick’s tablet sounds like a really good idea!

      Thanks, Chris.

Oh my goodness! You take care of yourself and get plenty of fluids and rest. So happy you have books to read and a nice bed to sleep in. Oh, and puzzles! I love to put a puzzle together. Before covid when I went to radiation therapy they had a puzzle going on the waiting room. There was always someone sitting there with their head down working on it. I need to get my card table out and start working on a puzzle. I have lots of them because I use the boxes for picture interest in the living room. Haven’t even opened them yet, but love the way they look. Seasonal flu shot today and the booster next week. Then hopefully we will be set.

Welcome!

Welcome!

I live in a little cottage in the country with my husband. It's a sweet place, sheltered by old trees and surrounded by gardens. The inside is full of the things we love. I love to write, I love my camera, I love creating, I love gardening. My decorating style is eclectic; full of vintage and a bit of whimsy.

I've worked in the theater for more years than I can count. I'm currently a voice, speech, dialect and text coach freelancing on Broadway, off Broadway, and in regional theater.

Thanks for stopping by.
