Cooking on Thanksgiving

November 24, 2011 at 9:06 am by Claudia

I’ll be spending a lot of time at the stove today. Or rather, my new Aga cooker. Yes, I know I’ve mentioned how times are tough for us – that I’m frugal by necessity. But Don surprised me with a new Aga for my birthday!

You know where this is going.

It’s for the dollhouse. I’m thrilled because I have had one of these bookmarked on this computer for about 3 years. (Photos are a bit grainy because it’s early morning here and shooting into the dollhouse kitchen is like photographing a tunnel.)

I baked a cake.

I’ve always loved British decorating magazines with cozy, low-ceilinged kitchens complete with an Aga. Now I can say I own one.

But back to the true meaning of today. I wish for you and your loved ones a Happy Thanksgiving. I could list all the negatives in my life at the moment, but I’m not going to. Gratitude and thankfulness is the order of the day. I have much to be thankful for and I truly am aware of my blessings every day.

I am very thankful for all of you.

Eat lots of food, take a nap, take a walk – enjoy.

Happy Thanksgiving to you and Don. May the two of you be blessed beyond measure. ♥

I love the Aga. You deserve a surprise and I know it made Don feel good to give it to you. I’m with you on loving British magazines.

I’m having a quiet day and slowly putting things away in my studio so I can see what to do next.

    Have a wonderful day,
    Steph ♥

Happy Thanksgiving Claudia, love your new Aga, but absolutely adore your ‘cottage’, it looks a dream. Give your happy pouches a good back rub from me, that is my dog’s favourite treat!

The year we lived in England we had an Aga, the exact color as yours. It was wonderful cooking on it, and it kept our kitchen cozy all winter long. It was a bear to clean, but we so enjoyed it. What a wonderful birthday present this was for you, and beautiful addition to your precious dollhouse. Congrats!! ♥

Welcome!

Welcome!

I live in a little cottage in the country with my husband. It's a sweet place, sheltered by old trees and surrounded by gardens. The inside is full of the things we love. I love to write, I love my camera, I love creating, I love gardening. My decorating style is eclectic; full of vintage and a bit of whimsy.

I've worked in the theater for more years than I can count. I'm currently a voice, speech, dialect and text coach freelancing on Broadway, off Broadway, and in regional theater.

Thanks for stopping by.
