all beautiful, and i’m particularly liking the soft chair with the red-and-cream floral fabric, the cupboard next to it and the table (in a favorite color) next to that, and your “spoiler alert” photo …! i am also including the unseen deer that eat some of your plants … just as i’m including the raccoon we saw this morning eating food we drop off each day for earl and the birds. :)
thanks for sharing corners of your cozy and charming home.
today i get to take three paper sacks full of papers to be shredded for free … decades of old tax paperwork, bank statements, etc. there’s more to sort and shred, and the sorting is time-consuming and often quite emotional for me, but the shredding feels good! plus it just needs to be done.
hope this is a lovely weekend for everyone.

Good Morning Claudia. I’m sorry the deer got to your hostas. Somehow it always feels like an invasion… even though it is nothing of the sort… what we put out there is “on offer” in their plan! I don’t (so far!) see deer this far into town… but I have seen all sorts of smaller wildlife including foxes and coyotes going down the “back yard fence line”. We have bunnies (hence all my chicken wire fencing) and woodchucks and possums and raccoons and skunks to name the obvious ones. And I know deer are difficult to discourage and almost impossible to fence out, they can leap so high. In my old place they destroyed my attempt to have fruit trees… regularly “pruned” my nascent hedges…. yeah, annoying! But we invade their reality and leave them fewer and fewer options too. It’s a hard bargain.
As for the corners, they are lovely as always, even though fall is here with a vengeance… it was in the 40’s this morning. Dove Cottage looks really sweet in that spot! I hope you turn it around from time to time. :):)
We love our deer and we encourage them to eat the abundance of green plants in the back forty and in our woods. There’s a lot of it. Don’t worry, they’re provided for.
Thanks, Betsy.

Late summer and your plantings are beautiful. I especially love the corner of your porch! I needed to see something lovely and peaceful today. Thank you!

I was hoping to see a picture of “the dude” you mentioned that area needed mowing. Nice to see pictures of landscaping with green. Living in the desert everything is brown. Although I do have palo verde trees that have green leaves. We only have about another month of 100 degree weather left. I like all the seasons so not complaining. Life is good.
Thank you, Olivia.
