Day Three Hundred Seventy-Eight

March 26, 2021 at 9:50 am by Claudia

As I was walking by Don’s studio, I couldn’t help noticing the aftermath of some sort of party.

Apparently, I wasn’t invited.

Hmmm.

I’m going to suggest to Don that some dusting and cleaning is in order, as well as the obvious rehanging of canvases.

Periodically, here in the den, I’ll hear the sound of something falling and after some investigation, I’ll see that something’s fallen off the wall in one of the two dollhouses that live here – sort of like “things that go bump in the night.”

We’re due for a little rain this morning and then the inevitable wind advisory from noon to midnight. I’ll try not to scream.

Don and Dan keep recording new songs and periodically, I point you in the direction of one that I think is especially lovely. This will be on their third album and it’s called Sunny Skies Over Dark Days, with Don singing and playing the guitar and Dan playing the mandolin. Don played it for me this morning and I just love it. It’s very sweet. Here’s the link.

Stay safe.

Happy Friday.

I love the new song. I am currently in a sad situation with my elderly Mother, and am having sad days.
The song reminds me it all exists at the same time, the sadness and the sunny times.
Please pass along my gratitude, and love of their music.
I’m also sending prayers to you as you endure a windy day. We had that last night and it’s unsettling.

      hej, jan …

i know such sadness and i hate it and i am sorry for whatever you two are going through.

i will be praying for you and your mother.

take good care of yourself, too.

hugs, if you want, and prayers for peace, comfort, happy things …

Thank you. Your kind words, and prayers are so appreciated. I have been blessed to have my Mother for 75 years, she is 98!
I read your comments, and send prayers your way as well.
That’s what’s lovely here in this site, the mutual caring that has been brought together by Claudia, and Don.
Even though we don’t know one another personally the mutual love, kindness, and caring shines the light of goodness through us all.đź’•đź’•đź’•

I understand. I was there with both of my parents. It’s tremendously hard, isn’t it? Sad days, but also, grateful beyond words for our parents. Sending a lot of love your way, Jan. I read your comment to Don and he was very, very touched.

      Stay safe.

thanks for the link to another song by don and dan … and please thank them for putting it out there, sharing their talents. will check it out when i’m not at work (ha). and someday i will get tech-y enough to download all their songs onto a cd.

good luck with the rain and wind. we are to get another bit of rain tonight or tomorrow. hopefully i can be out to enjoy it.

am working tomorrow to help get people vaccinated at work. while i dislike working on a weekend, i am grateful to have a job and that people are getting vaccinated.

hope you are having a good start to your day. happy friday!

SO, SO windy today. The gusts are insane. I worked on my puzzle to keep myself distracted, but I wasn’t altogether successful!

I know you’d rather have the day off, but how wonderful that you’re helping others get vaccinated!

      Stay safe, Kathy.

I like the new song….it’s a catchy little tune, that speaks volumes. Please thank Don for sharing with us.

“Things that go bump in the night”? Perhaps the owners/occupants of the houses are attempting to rearrange things? Which makes me wonder, have you named the other occupants? I don’t remember….I only know of Caroline. Just curious.

That must have been some party Don had last night…lol. Enjoy your day..,and stay safe! ;)

I will thank him for you, Donna.

I haven’t named the other occupants. I’m not sure what their names should be. I think I’ll name them when each dollhouse is finished and that hasn’t happened yet!

      Stay safe, Donna.

Yes, and tack down the corner of that rug before someone trips! Maybe the sweet dog on the rug was playing with that!
It is hard to keep up our spirits some days. I enjoyed Don’s song!
    Have a good weekend!

It curled up from the sun shining on it, I guess. I have to clean the house before I tack it down!

That Don! He should ALWAYS invite you to the party. Even the puppy seems to be having a good time — and the poor Beatles!

I’ll look forward to the song. Thanks for the link.

Love the new song! Especially appropriate for the year we have had.
Looks like Don had quite a party. I think someone tripped over the rug and knocked the picture askew when they fell! I hope no one was hurt.

Love the studio picture. Still getting settled in Florida. Paperwork as usual…of all my 31st moves, this one seems to have the most…have a file a mile thick for motor vehicles next week…here is hoping. Enjoying the family here, but I do miss the Indy family. My Indy family doing well getting vaccine…the girls are signed up, and as soon as youngest turns 16 in May, she will go…here in Florida, son was in line at 5 a.m. and waited hours for his first one…he is fifty…just doesn’t seem to be equitable. Friends in Iowa who are in sixties and seventies still waiting…few in WV also…good grief people…give the vaccines…make them more readily available…hope you and Don have a good good weekend…just reread some Penny books…I have read about 30 plus books this year on Kindle for Netgalley…a few good ones…I love holding the IPAD/Kindle, making the words larger, and knowing it is sanitary…took me awhile to get used to it, but once I did, several years ago, I liked it…I have already gone to library here and gotten a couple of new books…just came in the day I went…that was lucky…still love your blog…prayers

Every state is different, though I think they’re all starting to catch up.

I can’t read on my Kindle. I mean, I can, but with the screen time I put in each day for the blog and everything I have to do online, I don’t like to read on the screen, as well. That’s too much. But they sure are handy!

Glad you’re getting acquainted with your library, Brenda. That’s when you know you’re settling in!

      Stay safe.

Third album!??!!? How did I miss the second one? I have “Ready for the Radio” and love it so much, that I bought several for gifts. I wanted to gush about it here, but I don’t gush well on paper. Going to listen to the new song.

Ready for the Radio was their first CD and since then, they’ve done 3 albums on the BandCamp site. You can download the songs, but they’re not on a CD. So this will actually be their fourth album together, counting the first one!

      Stay safe, Jane!

Welcome!

Welcome!

I live in a little cottage in the country with my husband. It's a sweet place, sheltered by old trees and surrounded by gardens. The inside is full of the things we love. I love to write, I love my camera, I love creating, I love gardening. My decorating style is eclectic; full of vintage and a bit of whimsy.

I've worked in the theater for more years than I can count. I'm currently a voice, speech, dialect and text coach freelancing on Broadway, off Broadway, and in regional theater.

Thanks for stopping by.
