Enjoy

Hello, my friends.

I hope you’re enjoying this holiday weekend. We are – the weather today is lovely, lots of sun, temps will be in the low eighties – a perfect day. Though, as we installed our downstairs window A/C unit about 30 minutes ago, I detected some humidity in the air.

But, it’s not raining. It’s sunny. The gardens are looking lush. I’m going to install myself on the porch for as long as possible. Don is off taking portraits.

The sofa cushions, by the way, are much more comfortable today. They just need some ‘sitting on’ to break them in, which we’ve been happy to do.

I’m going to take the day off tomorrow. I think most of you are enjoying your downtime and aren’t necessarily online. Good for you! So let’s all take a break and I’ll see you on Tuesday morning.

Remembering our soldiers who have lost their lives in battle.

A sacrifice beyond imagining.

Happy Sunday.

Sounds like a lovely day Claudia. I’m waiting for Ashleigh to arrive and then have a full weekend with family.

Well…when the weather is nice, it’s only logical to spend more time outdoors, isn’t it? And you have such a lovely porch…why not enjoy it while you can.

We are off to finish our last two projects at the future DIL’s house. Yeah! At least we are outside enjoying this nice weather. Then, we’ll come home and hopefully finish our last project here. Fingers crossed. I’m not doing a thing tomorrow, except relaxing, and remembering.

Enjoy your day on the porch today…and tomorrow! ;)

Attended my youngest’ college grad yesterday. A day full of positive emotions. A bit of sadness that my late husband wasn’t sitting beside me, but we all knew he was with us. Enjoy the nice weather from your porch, Claudia. I miss the porch from my previous house.

Sounds wonderful! It is hot here in NC – and humid. I was out this morning but it is just too hot for the remainder of the day. I do miss northern summers. Enjoy your day tomorrow. I am recovering from an upper respiratory infection. Hate being on antibiotics, but they are sometimes necessary.

I feel the same. I avoid them but sometimes you have to take them. Hope you’re feeling better, Jane!

just got home from time with my family … always nice, low-key and casual, needed! more of the same tomorrow. :)

Family today including my 92 yo FIL, a WW2 pacific theater vet, relaxation tomorrow. Of course I’m sure some garden projects will pop up as usual but they will be fun ones, not the usual back breaking ones. They’ll get the day off as well. Enjoy your porch. It’s just lovely.

Yes, I’m at that place where all I have to do is prune and weed and mow the lawn. Thank goodness!

Welcome!

Welcome!

I live in a little cottage in the country with my husband. It's a sweet place, sheltered by old trees and surrounded by gardens. The inside is full of the things we love. I love to write, I love my camera, I love creating, I love gardening. My decorating style is eclectic; full of vintage and a bit of whimsy.

I've worked in the theater for more years than I can count. I'm currently a voice, speech, dialect and text coach freelancing on Broadway, off Broadway, and in regional theater.

Thanks for stopping by.
