Finished Puzzle, Books, and Warm Temps

November 4, 2022 at 8:38 am by Claudia

The latest finished puzzle – this one of a Christmas Market in Dresden. It was very challenging.

Just the way I like it.

I’ve already started the next one, which is Times Square. Thankfully, Times Square without the Disneyfication that permeates it nowadays. This one, if it’s at all possible, has even more little people to search for, all the while hoping for something that differentiates one from another. I like a challenge – at least this kind of challenge – and it keeps me sane.

I’m immersed in John Connolly’s The Furies  and loving every bit of it. The book is two novels in one and I’m on the second one. Later today, I’m going to pick up Jussi Adler-Olsen’s newest, The Shadow Murders, from the library.

We’re in for 4 days of temps in the 70s, which will be nice change before we head into true late fall/winter temperatures. I’ve been feeling under the weather for the past two days. If I didn’t know better, I’d say I have a cold. But since I don’t go out that much and when I do, I’m masked, it’s unlikely I magically caught a cold. I guess it’s sinus. Anyway, today I’m feeling a bit better though I woke up way too early for the third day in a row. Sigh. I have a lot on my mind, so when I do wake up early, my mind gets busy and I can’t get back to sleep.

Thankfully, I can grab a nap this afternoon.

Stay safe.

Happy Friday.

Just a suggestion….test for covid. Hubby and I both had covid and would have written it off as a cold or allergy if we hadn’t tested.
    Rest and feel better

I’ve been testing all along, Marilyn, because I was working on a show. It’s not covid.

      Thanks.

      Stay safe.

cute puzzle … challenging, but cute! glad you have another one and some books at hand … especially when feeling crummy. hope you feel and sleep better soon and that whatever is on your mind gets better, too.

am sure you will enjoy and make good use of the nice weather. take it easy, too!

very nice of elaine to share the susan branch calendar and of you to host the give-away! if by commenting my name gets drawn, please disregard (already have a calendar) and let someone else win. good luck, everyone!

a new roof was to be put on the building today, but we are getting some rain (and i love it) so the plan is for the roof to be replaced sunday. will be good to have that done for its own reason and because my little place is now a big mess. i’ve taken art off the walls and it’s a lot, now all laying on and leaning against the furniture. fragile things have been moved from window sills and other flat surfaces to the floor, etc. been encouraged to do these things for living on the top floor. all for a good cause, but i look forward to putting everything back where i like it to be.

wish we didn’t have to change the clocks back an hour tomorrow night. it’s already so dark so early. ):( can’t change it but i don’t have to like it!

still slowly reading an agatha christie book and working on three children’s books. also have ideas about some paintings i want to make. time with my family takes priority. all good.

    happy, safe friday to everyone.

It will be nice when that roof is replaced, Kathy. Hang in there until the end of the day on Sunday.

      Stay safe.

Isn’t this weather the best? I’ve been getting lots done in the yard. With the back, it’s hard to do it all at once so I’m extra glad for all these beautiful days in a row! Even next week is scheduled to be nice here, just a little cooler but still productive time.

That’s a great puzzle. A friend just gave me one of the Queen in all her coronation finery — I think it was one of the official portraits back then. I’m never great on photo puzzles but looking forward to the challenge!

Did you see the Playbill musicals puzzle? I ordered one for a Christmas gift and think I’ll order another for a different friend.

I haven’t seen that puzzle yet. I’m so into busy scene puzzles right now; they’re what I’m drawn to.

      Stay safe, Jeanie.

I’d like to be in that Christmas market puzzle…if I was bundled up!

Hope you keep feeling better, not fun to be under the weather (I’ll have to Google that expression and see where it came from)!

    Take care!

We are having heavy rains today with lots of thunder and lightening. A wind advisory begins overnight and lasts most of tomorrow. Hubs plays a wedding tomorrow, and I think of that bride out in the predicted 50 mph winds in her veil ~~ soaring up to the clouds. At least the rain is supposed to be done tomorrow. After several days in the 70’s we are still in the mid 60’s.

Hope you feel better. The puzzle is amazing. I bow to you and the patience you have to achieve such a thing!! Take care.

Oh no! I hope the weather behaves while the ceremony is taking place.

      Stay safe, Chris.

Welcome!

Welcome!

I live in a little cottage in the country with my husband. It's a sweet place, sheltered by old trees and surrounded by gardens. The inside is full of the things we love. I love to write, I love my camera, I love creating, I love gardening. My decorating style is eclectic; full of vintage and a bit of whimsy.

I've worked in the theater for more years than I can count. I'm currently a voice, speech, dialect and text coach freelancing on Broadway, off Broadway, and in regional theater.

Thanks for stopping by.
