Flowers keep me sane

January 30, 2009 at 1:26 pm by Claudia

Ever since the first day I arrived in San Diego (remember how depressed I was?) I’ve been buying fresh flowers for the apartment. The minute I bought a bouquet, I felt better. Back in New York I would be looking at the snow and yearning for my garden. Here in San Diego everything is blooming and my allergies can attest to that fact. I still can’t garden but I can have fresh flowers. Trader Joes is just a few blocks away and Whole Foods is just a bit further down the road. Between them, I am flush with flowers. The Gerber daisies in the top photo are on the coffee table, the little roses are a welcome gift from the teacher I am replacing, and the asters are on a table by the front door. They make a huge difference in the ambiance of this little apartment. Do you keep fresh flowers around your home?

Now that I don’t have cats climbing on tables, eating flowers and knocking over vases, they are in my house more often. My husband actually likes having them around. Trader Joe’s is a great place for nice arrangements at good prices.
    Enjoy the sunshine!!

I love flowers, they make me so happy just to look at them. I have them at home a lot even living in Florida. We have had three hard freezes so all my flowers and plants outside are brown. I think I need some color inside just like you.

Welcome!

Welcome!

I live in a little cottage in the country with my husband. It's a sweet place, sheltered by old trees and surrounded by gardens. The inside is full of the things we love. I love to write, I love my camera, I love creating, I love gardening. My decorating style is eclectic; full of vintage and a bit of whimsy.

I've worked in the theater for more years than I can count. I'm currently a voice, speech, dialect and text coach freelancing on Broadway, off Broadway, and in regional theater.

Thanks for stopping by.
