Flowers & Puzzles

October 14, 2026 at 8:03 am by Claudia

Thank you for your lovely comments on our anniversary! We appreciate your kind words.

It was a quiet day for us; full of talk about the day we met, the day we got married, how unbelievably lucky we are – and expressing gratitude for our marriage and our love for each other. We are blessed.

Yesterday, I spent some time on the Beacon Hill, painting and installing baseboards in almost all of the rooms. I’m holding off on the den until I’m sure of furniture placement. You’d think it would be easy but wonky rooms, uneven floors, etc., make it anything but. I also reinstalled some wallpaper on the second floor landing because I saw some errors that needed to be corrected.

Today? Vaccinations. They always make us tired and sleepy so the rest of the day will be about rest.

I’m reading Life Out of Order  by Audrey Niffenegger who wrote The Time Traveler’s Wife, one of my favorite novels. This one is also about time traveling. And I have another book ready to be picked up – Our Noble Selves  by Kate Atkinson. These are books that have just been published so I have limited time in which to read them.

The completed puzzle “The World of Witches.”

I love this “World of….” puzzle series. I learn a lot (there’s always a key describing every thing in the puzzle) and the illustrations are beautiful. The next one – I’ve yet to order it – will be The World of The Odyssey.

Stay safe.

Happy Wednesday.

Your mention of the “World of the Odyssey” puzzle sent me straight to their website – a couple of the kids are currently reading the Odyssey together after seeing the film so perfect anniversary gift, right? But it must be new, not on their website. Did you perhaps find it some other way? Sorry to bug you, feel free to ignore if tiresome.

    And your hydrangea is gorgeous!

Bingo! It’s now in my cart. Somehow when the company didn’t have it I panicked.

        Thanks,

        Ceci

I just picked up The Calamity Club by Kathryn Stockett (the author of The Help) yesterday. I’ve heard so many good things about it but it’s a fat book so it will take me a bit of time to get through it! Your puzzles are always so interesting! Happy reading, Claudia!

glad you two had a nice anniversary, spent it as you wanted.

hopefully you and don enjoy good protection and no bad reactions or pain from the shots. glad you plan to take it easy after getting them. getting mine next week.

“the world of …” sounds like an interesting series of puzzles. hope you get more and enjoy them. same with reading another “time-traveling” book (not one of my favorite ideas in a book or movie, but i appreciate book recommendations all the same).

    happy, safe wednesday!

It definitely is one of my favorite ideas for a book/movie. I find it fascinating.

      Stay safe, Kathy.

maybe i need to be able to focus more when reading such a book? or not live that often-time-traveling way in my heart-led head?!?

That puzzle is a wonder! It is so detailed, interesting and it comes with a text. I will have to check them out, just to look right now.

Welcome!

Welcome!

I live in a little cottage in the country with my husband. It's a sweet place, sheltered by old trees and surrounded by gardens. The inside is full of the things we love. I love to write, I love my camera, I love creating, I love gardening. My decorating style is eclectic; full of vintage and a bit of whimsy.

I've worked in the theater for more years than I can count. I'm currently a voice, speech, dialect and text coach freelancing on Broadway, off Broadway, and in regional theater.

Thanks for stopping by.
