I was going to post about the murder of Renee Good, but I’m completely out of words today. I also didn’t sleep well last night. You know how I feel and how sad and angry I am. I’m heartsick. For now, that’s all I can say. Sending love and light to Renee’s loved ones and to all of you.

Just a quick update on the mini grandfather clock.

It’s finished, but not without some mishaps. I’m missing one of the hands. It fell on the floor and I can’t find it. They are SO tiny. Likewise, the knob on the door, which is also missing somewhere under my desk. So I used a quilting pin head instead. The inner workings were very fussy to install but they are there and I’ll get a photo of them later today. It was late in the day when I took this picture. I like the idea of lighter finishes on the furniture, as the finish on the staircase is so dark. For a while I was going to go with a Scandinavian look for the house. But I never like to be limited by just one style. There will be elements of that, but you know me: eclectic is my style.

Overall, I’m fairly please with this little clock.

Okay, my friends.

Stay safe.

Happy Friday.

Claudia, I really admire your patience in putting those pieces together. I don’t know if this will help. Next time you have tiny pieces, roll up a piece of tape and stick it to your work surface. Then put the tiny pieces on that until you need to attach them. I have used that idea when I worked with tiny beads.

I will try that. It’s tricky, though!

Good Morning Claudia. I am sorry you are sleep deprived… that happened to me the other night… I get it. The world out there is a mess, what can we do?
The clock looks beautiful even in its imperfection! Time takes a toll… 7:37 is not a terrible time to be perpetually on exhibit. I bought a lovely little working clock a few years back, it sits on the kitchen mantel of The Lovely Old Dollhouse, but it always needs new tiny button batteries… it has said 12:34 for a while now. I do hope you find the missing hand. I think it will look gorgeous in the hallway whether the hand shows up or not!

We are living in a nightmare these days…one that seems to have no end. No other words. I have heard that there were, and are going to be, massive protests across the country. There is hope. I will cling to that.

I have to admit, I had a much needed chuckle about the lost parts to the clock.
I was picturing myself…on the floor with a flashlight searching….and then gracefully trying to get back up lol. I hope they turn up….the clock does look great, even with the missing parts. ;)

Your clock is beautiful. <3 Thank you for posting it.

My stomach is in knots. I cannot understand how our country has changed. How do these citizens think they got here? From their immigrant great grand parents, grand parents, aunts and uncles. In most of the country there are not any Native American Indians so pretty much all of us are immigrants. Clearly we have an education problem too because it's becoming clear that no one knows a thing about history.
These ICE people are like nazis; keeping their faces covered and their guns out.. Hasn't anyone read what happened in germany? It's absolutely sickening and very scary.
I am going to go water my 40 houseplants; breathe in and out.

The GOP has been trying to dumb down America for years. Looks like they’ve succeeded.

Water those plants, Betsy. It’s very meditative.

        Hi,
I didn’t know Kathy has covid. I’m really sorry to hear that.
Keep your chin up, Claudia, as my friend used to say to me.
As far as the clock goes, it’s turned out really great. It’s impossible to find tiny things. Not long ago, I was vacumming and I found the gold earring backing I lost so long ago. It was under an area rug. The dog collar is large and it’s like, nowhere! How did that get lost? My house isn’t that messy. I’ll keep looking but need to get Dory’s tags remade soon as she’s not been legal since Christmas.
Our Christmas tree is still up and it was lit all night . It’s just been so drab that coming into the living room today was nice and cheerful.
I’m not supposed to drive. My doctor’s orders. I’m still driving. 90 year olds drive this city all the time. What gives. Bye, going to write my journal and watch Big Brother that I’d taped. My cousin who died, we both watched Coronation Street and Big Brother. We shared so many of the same interests.

Welcome!

Welcome!

I live in a little cottage in the country with my husband. It's a sweet place, sheltered by old trees and surrounded by gardens. The inside is full of the things we love. I love to write, I love my camera, I love creating, I love gardening. My decorating style is eclectic; full of vintage and a bit of whimsy.

I've worked in the theater for more years than I can count. I'm currently a voice, speech, dialect and text coach freelancing on Broadway, off Broadway, and in regional theater.

Thanks for stopping by.
