Friday Bits

April 8, 2022 at 9:00 am by Claudia

Gosh, the rain was torrential and went on and on – all day and all night long. I think we got at least 2 inches.

Now the sun is out, giving us a one-day respite until it rains again tomorrow morning.

We got our boosters and are having the usual reactions – Don usually feels a bit achey and tired. I am always super tired for a couple of hours. My arm is sore, but not as sore as usual. We also stopped at the grocery store nearby and picked up a few things.

Wren and a couple of birds.

My back is getting better every day. Yesterday was a particularly good day. Nevertheless, I’m being very careful and mindful throughout the day. I want it fully healed so I can work outside. Don’s shoulder is much, much better.

The highlight of yesterday was the confirmation vote for Ketanji Brown Jackson. Cheers were heard in the Hill-Sparks house. Something good happened and our country is miles better for it.

Stay safe.

Happy Friday.

Claudia, echoing cheers on my side of the country for Jackson!

Was this yours and Don’s second booster? I was notified that I was eligible for a second booster. Trying to determine the best time for it since I have had 4-day stay in bed reactions with the two first shots and the first booster. Hope your reactions and back continue to get better. .

      Thanks so much!

We celebrated here also with Justice Jackson’s confirmation! So rude for most of the R senators to walk out after the vote, but it reflected poorly on them and not on the excellent candidate.

Unbelievably rude, but typical of the current GOP. Thankfully, Mitt Romney did the right thing.

      Stay safe, Emily.

Cheers for Judge Jackson! That lifted my spirits considerably yesterday.

We got our 2nd booster this morning. I expect to feel tired later, so I have a quiet afternoon planned. But who knows…maybe my body will surprise me. It did seem strange to wear a t shirt with a winter coat this morning. It’s snowing here…not really sticking, but…it’s snow.

Wren looks cute, but sad…great outfit tho! Enjoy your day! ;)

And boy, do we need a lift of our spirits, Donnamae.

Wren looking sad is exactly what I love about her!

      Stay safe.

glad your back and don’s shoulder keep healing.

and that you received your second boosters
and are stocked up so you can stay in and rest.

wish we had that much rain! been sprinkling off and on today, but more off than on. cold enough that we had teeny flurries this morning … over that.

need to get taxes done this weekend. not fun to do, but hoping i will get refunds.

and that everyone has a nice weekend!

    stay safe.

We had rain again overnight. There are flooded areas all over the place here, so it’s not so good for us.

      Stay safe, Kathy.

I’m so glad to hear that everyone’s body parts are healing! That’s always a plus, especially this time of year. We had hail and ice today. It’s getting VERY old!

Have a wonderful weekend. We’re doing Easter early with the grands. Should be lively!

Enough of this lingering winter weather, Jeanie. I think we are all sick and tired of it.

Have fun with the grands! I bet they will love what you have planned.

      Stay safe.

We are blessed with our new Justice! She is a welcome ray of sunshine this week; one sorely needed.

Our lovely unseasonable warmth is disappearing. The morning was tropical, now the winds are blustering at my poor old fence. I’m hoping it holds up for just another week when we will have time to mend it. Spring here is notoriously fickle and this one is living up to the tradition. A snowstorm is heading our way soon. Sigh. I guess I can be glad that anything adding to a deficient snowpack is a good thing.

Meanwhile, the Spring Cleaning Bug has bit me. Which reminds me, I need to schedule our second booster too. Glad we all are being smart about Covid!

    Keep healing, both of you!

Yes. I keep hearing about people I know being diagnosed with COVID – people who vaccinated and boosted. We still wear masks when we are out and about.

      Stay safe, Roxie.

I had a Dr appt yesterday and they asked if I wanted my booster done there!! Fun “surprise” and nice to not have to look for and find a place giving them. I had a sore arm, and was tired, but not the nausea from the first booster. I wonder how many more we will need.

Yay for the successful vote yesterday. Certainly was a bright spot.

We woke up to snow covering the ground again this morning. Lasted til around noon. More predicted tonite. Over it.

Glad you are feeling better and wise decision to take it easy so when we are finally able to get outside you will be ache free ready to go! Hope you have a good weekend. Take care.

      Oh, how nice and convenient!

This snow hanging on is ridiculous! It seems especially snowy in the Midwest.

      Stay safe, Chris.

Welcome!

Welcome!

I live in a little cottage in the country with my husband. It's a sweet place, sheltered by old trees and surrounded by gardens. The inside is full of the things we love. I love to write, I love my camera, I love creating, I love gardening. My decorating style is eclectic; full of vintage and a bit of whimsy.

I've worked in the theater for more years than I can count. I'm currently a voice, speech, dialect and text coach freelancing on Broadway, off Broadway, and in regional theater.

Thanks for stopping by.
