Hello, Again

March 22, 2018 at 10:15 am by Claudia

Two things: We had a mass of dry air over the part of the Hudson Valley that is west of the Hudson River, and that dry air managed to keep the snow from falling during yesterday’s nor’easter. Only during the early morning hours of today did we get a smidgen of snow and it isn’t sticking to surfaces and should melt by the end of the day. We dodged a bullet. I know others were not as fortunate. The last two nor’easters have hit areas south and east of us much harder than here.

Second thing – I’m slowly feeling better. Still under the weather, but I can see light at the end of the tunnel. I just have to pace myself and by ‘pace myself’, I mean stay home and take it easy for a few more days.

When last I spoke with you I said I was going to run some errands before the snow came. I drove to Target and Lowe’s and the grocery store to get a few things. It was exhausting, but I needed to do it in case I was snowed in. I was efficiency personified as I swept through those stores, got everything I needed, and drove back home. While at Target, I somehow managed to scoop up a few non-essentials for the cottage.

I got this outdoor rug because, of course, it has a bunny rabbit on it. And I like the design. I also got a little pillow but I haven’t taken a picture of it yet.

And I scooped up this watering can because it’s so pretty.

I had to. I needed some cheering up!

By the way, I wish I had stock in Kleenex. I’m sure going through a lot of it at the moment.

I don’t think I’ll be up to marching on Saturday. I hope some of you are going to march! FYI: MSNBC is covering the Washington DC March for Our Lives all day Saturday.

Okay. Good to be back. But now I’m tired.

Happy Thursday.

So happy to hear the heavy snow missed you….spring will come quicker. That rug and the watering can were essentials, naturally. Who could blame you? The watering can makes me smile! Glad to hear you are feeling a bit better. Hope the sun is shining there! ;)

Well, you are welcome!! You KNOW it was all of your followers who are east of you blowing that mass of dry air your way!! We’re here for you! So glad it missed you.

That rug is gorgeous and the watering can is that wonderful design that lets you water so much more directly into the pot. Much more fun that kleenex and groceries!

Glad you are going to take it easy for a few more days. Doesn’t pay to overdo it and end up out of commission even longer. So many things ahead. Take care, kiddo. (An American in Paris is on TCM early this aft!!)

Claudia, So glad you did not get more snows. I have been thankful for our small snows here and now they are forecasting a big snow starting tomorrow night and going into Saturday. And here I was planning on working on the porch. LOL. I like your new rug and watering can. You are right…some times we need a wee something to cheer ourselves up a bit. Blessings, xoxo, Susie

Very glad to hear that [1] the snow more-or-less missed you and [2] you’re feeling better. Bummer about not being able to march on Saturday though. It sounds like things are going to be as historic [size-wise] as they were for the Women’s March last year. And truthfully, I hope it’s even bigger! MSNBC is planning on covering it live all day, so I’m going to make a pot of coffee at 9 am and hunker down to watch. Keep getting your rest – it’s the best thing right now. Oh and that chocolate suggestion someone had a day or two ago sounds like a good idea too! Peace.

Glad you are feeling better. That rug and watering can are lovely. Happy for you in not receiving the storm. Queens was not so lucky. We received about 6 inches. We were out early this morning shoveling. Went out yesterday afternoon, to shovel a little so the snow would not be too heavy today. It snowed all day yesterday and until early this morning. Fortunately the sun is out and the temperature is in the 40’s today, so a lot of the snow is starting to melt.

    Hi Claudia,
I saw Don on NBC news with Lester Holt last night! They did a segment on Margaritaville and had a few clips from the show. If you didn’t see it, you can watch it here: https://www.nbcnews.com/nightly-news. It was at the end of the newscast.

Claudia, here in my part of Maryland we got about 7 inches. It was a very heavy snow but the warmer temps today are melting it. Yeah! So Over Winter!

I’m planning on marching in DC on Saturday and it looks like the weather will be in our favor! Yeah! My son will also be there, working for the DNC. I was also at the Women’s March in DC and I certainly hope that this will be even bigger. Things must change!

Rest well and feel better! By the way I love the bunny rug!

Welcome!

Welcome!

I live in a little cottage in the country with my husband. It's a sweet place, sheltered by old trees and surrounded by gardens. The inside is full of the things we love. I love to write, I love my camera, I love creating, I love gardening. My decorating style is eclectic; full of vintage and a bit of whimsy.

I've worked in the theater for more years than I can count. I'm currently a voice, speech, dialect and text coach freelancing on Broadway, off Broadway, and in regional theater.

Thanks for stopping by.
