Just had to share this. I love these sisters – the sculpts were designed by Eat Zongzi who lives in China. I was compelled to fetch my big girl camera yesterday because they looked so darn adorabl. From the left: Wren, Lily, and Rosie.
The dolls help so much. I was feeling cranky the other day, well on my way to a bad mood. But later, I had an urge to photograph Nina and just like that, the mood lifted.

Who would have thought these little beings would be healers?
Oh, the finals of women’s figure skating were glorious! So life affirming, such support for each other no matter what country they represented. A breathtaking gold medal winning skate by Alyssa Liu. An amazing comeback by Amber Glenn. Three extraordinary skaters from Japan – talent and poise were everywhere. The biggest emotion seen on that ice? Pure joy.
We needed this now; something positive and good in the midst of the horrific. I think I’ll replay those performances today – more than once.
Don’s out running a quick errand as it’s snowing now. NO MORE! Actually, it will turn to rain later, so I hope the rain erases the snow. It’s taking so long for all the snow on the ground already to melt. We don’t need more, Mother Nature.
I am over this winter.
Stay safe.
Happy Friday.

That skating! It was such a wow. I watched it in the afternoon, then turned around and watched again in the evening. Who could resist?
No one!
Thanks, Jeanie.
Stay safe.
glad the sweet girls (every day) have a nice home with you and that you have the olympics to watch now, among other things. especially today when you’re getting more snow. always good to have favorite and comforting things close at hand!
it snowed here overnight. and it’s icy … saw and heard the big snowplow’s tires spinning and spinning as they worked out front. that part’s not good … but the snow itself is sure beautiful. we received close to six inches of snow and need more (after last night’s snow, we are now about a foot below average in snowfall). need to get out to feed earl and the birds, otherwise staying put and knitting more red hats.
hope you, don and everyone else have an easy and safe day.
kathy
Thanks so much, Kathy. You can have the snow!
Stay safe.
The women’s ice skating was so uplifting! I agree, such JOY! Also the women’s ice hockey team won (I’ll catch some of that replay today). So thankful for this Olympics.
Oh, so am I!
Thanks, Linda!
Stay safe.
Your girls are lovely. You can’t be in a bad mood when you’re playing dolls. It invokes the same feelings we had as children when we played with our dolls. I still have my pink whicker doll cradle from over 70 years ago, and the pink and white doll buggy. They are treasures! Enjoy your weekend. Hugs, Elaine
You’re so lucky to have those childhood treasures, Elaine.
Stay safe.
More snow! Has the previous snow totally cleared yet?
I must apologise if you didn’t receive my previous message of congratulations on your eighteenth anniversary of MHC. I don’t know where it disappeared to and I am questioning if I pressed ‘Send’.
I much prefer the Winter Olympics to the Summer Games although every time I switched on the TV, it seemed to be the Curling event!
One of my favourite films is on TV later, it’s Green for Danger with Alastair Sims from 1947.
Happy Friday
No, there is still a lot of snow on the ground – probably 5 inches or so.
You know I love Alastair Sim. I’ve not seen that film.
Stay safe, Dee Dee.
I’m glad to hear the girls are helping you. During these times, we need to find something….the Olympics are doing that for me. Alyssa Lou’s skate was magnificent….so full of joy. She skated with no worries…total abandonment…so free. I had to watch it again too,
Yup….winter came back for us too….just a smattering of snow…it’s not sticking to the roads, but my son who lives an hour north got 8+ and still counting. Having had a small taste of spring earlier this week….I say enough!
Enjoy your day! ;)
We have so much snow still on the ground and a potential storm on Sunday into Monday.
Stay safe, Donnamae.
The sisters are adorable and Nina’s hair…wow! I wish I had that much hair! Pleased your girls give you joy and solace.
This storm from Alaska has passed. In a week plus, temps are going up to high 60’s. My poor garden is confused. Some daffodils bloomed only to be trounced by pouring rain. More are opening soon and there isn’t any significant rain in the offing so I can enjoy them longer.
Hang in there, Claudia. Winter will pass too.
It has been a very hard winter, Wendy.
Thanks so much.
Stay safe.
