It’s someone’s birthday today.

A very special someone.

Our very own little magic dog, Miss Scout, is fifteen years old today!

Tina made some party hats for us so that we could celebrate in style. I think we all look rather festive, don’t you?

She’s slowing down a bit. She gets tired more easily. She has arthritis. She’s been through a lot in the last couple of years. She misses her brothers Winston and Riley.

But her joie de vivre remains. She is full of life. She is demanding. She is loving. She is full of heart. She loves people.

And look what arrived by special messenger this morning!

Drum roll, please.

    • I don’t know. When I went on Bloglovin just now, I clicked on both today’s and yesterday’s post and everything worked fine!
      (I actually like it when you visit the blog itself. It helps my ad income!)

    By royal decree, may there be frivolity, tummy rubs, nose kisses and biscuits aplenty!

  10. O, my! Dame Scout doth wear the honor well. Sigh. Now me supposeth she shall demand a tiara and garter of the order of the Gardiner pack! Louis is twisted in his jealousy so Noble knighted him this morning with a butter knife but he is now benighted and more surly than Sir! He doth howl in protest and has left royal hairball grenades around the realm for the parental serfs to step in. Then he caught a glimpse on the fetching Dame Scout on the kingdom’s laptop and is pitifully smitten. He is willing to cross the forbidden border from feline to canine to sue for Her Royal Paw. He would be honored to be her consort if she deemeth. He waxes poetic of her seasoned charms. He reminds me they are the same age and she should consider marrying below her station. He is desolate in the hopelessness of this forbidden love. Dame Scout, please release him from your spell, you vixen! From the hamlet of Milton.

    • Scout says that she would be honored to have Louis as her consort. (Although, she hesitates a bit. Felines are exotic, forbidden creatures that she is wary of.) She knows full well she is a vixen, indeed, a temptress of the first order.

      Now that Louis is Sir Louis, she finds the idea of a consort more attractive than ever!

  11. HAPPY BIRTHDAY DEAR DAME SCOUT. An honor well deserved. My Candy read this too and she’s been wondering why she doesn’t have the same honor. Maybe the Honor Society will look into that.

  60. Happy Birthday Scout! The first time I saw a picture of her I laughed out loud because she looks like she could be my dog, Calliope’s, mom or perhaps great aunt based on age differences. They don’t look exactly alike but they have a very similar face. She seems like such a sweetie pie.
