I’ve Emerged From the Black Hole!

July 28, 2009 at 10:44 am by Claudia

Doesn’t this look like fun? I read about this blog party and thought I’d join in on Friday. If you’re interested, just go to Marie’s blog and read all the details. I have a few things I can share – and even more in storage (by that I mean my friend’s basement in Detroit) that I can’t get to.

I emerged from the guest bedroom/office/husband’s recording studio with achy muscles, having made some major headway with the mess. Things are more organized, many things were tossed, and I can see the light at the end of the tunnel. Quite frankly, we sometimes think we should eliminate the bed and buy a sofa bed. So much space would be freed up. We don’t have guests that often and it seems silly to have a bed taking up all that space. My only qualm is that it is a good mattress, everyone always says they love sleeping on it, and I know sofa bed mattresses can be a little problematic. We have only 2 bedrooms here – and two adults who do a lot of their work at home. We’re still pondering.

Yes, it is Scout, Riley and me posing on the porch. Notice our chippy/rusty glider. I always think I should paint it, but I sort of like it this way. The dogs have on their decorated scarves that I made for Kelee Katillac’s cause. She has extended the deadline and if you would still like to decorate a scarf for an incredibly good cause – helping homeless dogs – please stop by her blog and scroll down for more information. It only takes a little bit of time!

Have a great day everyone!

Your babies look great in the scarves. I miss the porch and the glider. I think I will come over and knit right now.

I’d definately keep the glider just as it is! It looks so vintage-y and welcoming! Your Mom looks like a grown up version of you! Happy Day!

Claudia ~ I know how you feel, we have been trying to clean out things this summer – we does it all come from and how come it multiplies? I think I might join Heirloom Friday.

I like your glider the way it is !

Claudia, your two babies look lovely in their new scarves. With regard to having a usable guest room, I have long since given up. I never have overnight guests anyway, and I wouldn’t want to give up studio space :) One of these days though, my family is going to need the jaws-of-life to extract me from it!

Welcome!

Welcome!

I live in a little cottage in the country with my husband. It's a sweet place, sheltered by old trees and surrounded by gardens. The inside is full of the things we love. I love to write, I love my camera, I love creating, I love gardening. My decorating style is eclectic; full of vintage and a bit of whimsy.

I've worked in the theater for more years than I can count. I'm currently a voice, speech, dialect and text coach freelancing on Broadway, off Broadway, and in regional theater.

Thanks for stopping by.
