Jab Day

October 19, 2022 at 7:26 am by Claudia

Plants in for the night. There are more in the den.

It’s still dark out so I don’t know how frosty it looks out there. I’m writing this earlier than usual because we are getting our boosters this morning. Anyway – have the zinnias died? The morning glory? I don’t know. I’ll brace myself soon and take a look at the landscape.

We’re happy to be getting our boosters. We’re celebrating with a piece of the apple pie that Don made yesterday afternoon. Any occasion is worth celebrating with pie.

Just peeked outside and I can see a light coating of frost on the grass and my car windshield, but whether it’s a hard frost or not is yet to be determined.

The poster for the movie is out. I really like it. Note: this day of shooting was the coldest day on the set. We were at the shore, the non-stop wind was insane. For about 14 hours, we were out there with no shelter. But it sure photographed beautifully!

Okay. A short post. I have to make another cup of coffee and get ready to visit Walgreen’s.

Stay safe.

Happy Wednesday.

I love the poster too — that’s lovely.

Good luck with the jabs — and the zinnias. I don’t think we’ve had hard frost yet (but high 30s) but in the UP (Marquette) — 18 inches of snow! Yikes — that’s a new record for them at this time of year. But no worries. No climate change, right? They’re “up north.” Yeah. Hop on the roller coaster, folks. The hits just keep on coming.

Some plants are fine, others – the coleus in the secret garden and the morning glories, didn’t make it.

Brought everything back out on the porch only to hear that the next two nights also have frost warnings. Yikes. So we brought it all back in .

      Stay safe, Jeanie.

Hope getting your booster jabs goes well. I’m getting my flu shot tomorrow at 6:00 pm.

I saw the trailer for “Spoiler Alert” and would love to see it. Jim Parsons is a favourite of mine. The last movie I saw was “Little Women” in 2019.

Enjoy your day. Hope the frost was a light one. Hugs, Elaine

It was not a hard frost, but a few plants just couldn’t handle it.

      Stay safe, Elaine.

Our jabs went fine – just a sore arm. They work though. We were at Lisa’s for a weekend and one of her kids was sick. Turns out he had Covid and they all came down with it. We did not. We definitely were exposed.

We’ve had 40 mph steady winds here for 3 days. Trees down and power failures but no freezing temperatures. The waves are huge.

Have you looked at knitting patterns on Ravelry? They have a bunch of them for your dolls.

    Enjoy your pie,
    Eileen

Glad you didn’t get it! I was exposed at a rehearsal and I didn’t get it either.

Yes, I’ve looked at Ravelry, but not for a while!

      Thank you, Eileen.

      Stay safe.

Happy Jab Day. My Mom and I are getting our flu shots and some bloodwork done at our Dr’s office today. I still need to schedule my Mom for her Covid Booster. Since I’m having so many long covid issues (including some heart issues) I’m waiting until after I see my Cardiologist again before getting the booster. It is a nice cool day here. The movie poster is lovely. I am looking forward to this movie. Hugs!

I don’t think I knew that you have been suffering from Long Covid, Linda. I’m so sorry to hear that. I hope it eases soon and you are free from any complications, my friend.

      Stay safe.

Hope the day has gone well for you & Don, and you experience nothing more than a bit of soreness from your jab.

Believe we dodged the frost bullet overnight, but now they’re saying we may have a freeze tonight/early morning tomorrow. I’m not quite ready for these low temperatures. LOL

Marvelous movie poster! And it looks like it was cold that day. Brrrrr!
Looking forward to seeing the movie!

We’re having another freeze tonight and tomorrow night – then it will get warmer. So I had to bring the plants back in and I’ll just leave them inside until Friday morning.

      Stay safe, Amy.

    Glad you are getting boosters
No matter what side effects I had I get them too. They work
I have been exposed to Covid and didn’t get it yet. I imagine we all will but the vaccine helps.
    Have good day

Welcome!

Welcome!

I live in a little cottage in the country with my husband. It's a sweet place, sheltered by old trees and surrounded by gardens. The inside is full of the things we love. I love to write, I love my camera, I love creating, I love gardening. My decorating style is eclectic; full of vintage and a bit of whimsy.

I've worked in the theater for more years than I can count. I'm currently a voice, speech, dialect and text coach freelancing on Broadway, off Broadway, and in regional theater.

Thanks for stopping by.
