Yesterday was rather a lazy day. I’m not sure exactly why, but several of the items I had on my ‘to do’ list for the day have yet to be done. I felt relaxed and did some reading, listened to music, watched an artist working via YouTube, found a piece of MDF that will support smaller pieces of art to set on the easel. You never known what you’ll find up in the studio – that MDF came from the miniature studio I built for Don. It was meant to be the roof, but I decided not to include it in the project. Happily, it’s the perfect size for the easel!
I’ll take a picture of the easel today. It’s still pristine and untouched, but I do plan on painting today so the breaking in process will begin.
Another gorgeous day out there! Despite my lazy day yesterday, I did prune some bushes and wild roses. They grow so quickly. As you can see, the lavender is starting to bloom. So is the milkweed and the scent is heavenly! Oh my goodness.
I’m making Don get on the ladder to remove some greenery that is currently blocking the entrance to the birdhouse/trailer. I noticed it yesterday. Just in case my pals decide to come back for another round of babies, I don’t want them put off by the changes to the exterior of the residence.
Can you tell I miss them? I really do. The robins not so much…
Stay safe.
Happy Friday.

I want to tell everyone how much I appreciated the prayers and good thoughts for my granddaughter yesterday. She is still miserable but we did see a brief bit of improvement yesterday. She had a couple hours late in the day where she actually ate some baked potato and her headache was tolerable although not completely gone and her fever was down. This morning her fever is still down but the headache is back with a vengence. Both her rapid strep and rapid covid tests were negative, we are still waiting on the send outs.
I’m hanging on to that brief improvement that she is turning a corner and we will start to see more improvement. Thank you all again and if you can continue to keep her in your prayers we appreciate it .
Stay safe

Marilyn, so glad your grand girl had a bit of a reprieve. Hopefully the tests they sent out will give your family some answers. There are several nasty strains of something going around everywhere. I wonder if we shouldn’t all be masked up to stay safe from those sorts of things….

This is good news. We will hold you fast for the next reports. All good wishes.

I’m happy to hear there’s some improvement, Marilyn. I will continue to keep her in my prayers, as well as you and your family.

hooray for easier days! chores can sometimes wait, but glad you and don are leaving out the welcome mat (trimming things) for the wrens. be careful on the ladder, don!
happy painting with the new easel, claudia! as an adult, i’ve always painted things flat on the floor or my desk and where i live now is too small (500 square feet) for an easel … but i’d like to try one someday. thanks in advance for letting us know what you think of your new, well-deserved easel!
love lavender! usually i avoid scented products, but use a liquid hand soap because it has a wonderful lavender scent. plus, it’s vegan. :) close as i can get to the real thing sometimes.
didn’t walk outside because it reached 102 here yesterday. hope it doesn’t head your way.
happy friday.

Thank you Kathy

Well, this easel sits on the kitchen table. I sure don’t have room for a full-length easel!
It will hit 90 here today. Even warmer and more humid Sunday and Monday. Yuck.
Stay safe, Kathy!

Do you bring the lavender inside? I wondered how long they last once picked. Do you dry some of it to use for the scent? I was looking at google and see that you can use it in food and to make tea also. Do you do that? Or do you just enjoy it outside?
I wonder if I should plant some as it does look lovely.
Claudia says
No, I keep it outside. I rarely cut any of my outside plants. I like to leave them be.
Stay safe, Ellen.

Enjoy the lazy days of summer. I love lavender and I need to pick some up this year while I am up north.
Claudia says
I will. You, too!
Stay safe, Kay.

The lavender is lovely. There was just something on the local news the other evening that all of the lavender farms in the area are in full bloom. Gorgeous!
It has been in the mid 90’s again for a few days. It is supposed to be only 83* tomorrow which I am hoping for as the fam is coming to celebrate Father’s Day. Got a new little pool for the wee one, so that should be fun!!
Hope you enjoyed painting with the new easel today! Take care.
Claudia says
We are in for those temps through Monday. Not a happy camper.
I’m sure you’ll enjoy seeing your grandchild in that pool!
Stay safe, Chris!

Greetings from the lake! Oh, the lavender must be divine! Biggest sigh!
Have a wonderful, Painterly weekend.
Claudia says
Envious of your time at the lake. I so miss that at this time of year!
Enjoy!
Stay safe, Jeanie.

I also love lavender. It helps me to smell it when I am stressed or have a migraine. I don’t usually have luck growing it but this year we purchased a few different varieties, even though Randy rolls his eyes when I do it. I hope to try to harvest just enough to get me through.
I am so happy you found something to use for your easel.
Have a great day and weekend.

I like lavender too. I used to have some dried lavender that I kept by my pillow.
Stay safe, Kim!
