Lilacs & Bunnies

May 6, 2012 at 9:09 am by Claudia

My neighbor and her little girl (who is growing like a weed) came over with this bouquet yesterday. They have several old lilac bushes that are beautiful. Oh, that scent!

The usual has been going on since I arrived in the middle of the afternoon yesterday. Some mowing, some planting, some cleaning, some doggie cuddling, with more to follow. Today I plan to plant a few more flowers and give the porch a good scrubbing.

My first bunny sighting. Well, actually my second; I saw a rather large rabbit this morning when I first got up, but I didn’t have my camera nearby. But I did have time to grab the camera when I saw this little guy outside the kitchen window.

Happy Sunday.

Claudia, The first thing I saw this morning…one of the neighbor’s goat was eating on the little lilac bush. I lured it away from there , then called the neighbor . My mom loved lilacs so much. When she passed, I got a start from her lilacs and planted it here. It has not bloomed yet. so I didn’t want the goat eating it. Those naughty rabbits may eat your flowers. Have a great day. Smiles, xo, Susie

I love bunnies! When we lived in Mass I would look out my window in the morn and see a bunch of little bunnies hopping around. Now I am in Northern NH and when I look out the window I see moose and bear!

What a gorgeous bouquet they brought you, must smell wonderful.

I’m on Lilac watch up here, there is one tiny bloom so far, but I am hopeful.

How pretty! The dog looks pretty happy too.

Question – your Etsy store says handmade and vintage – are you branching out into vintage soon?

    Cheers

Sounds like you’re having a great time at home with Don and the puppies, as it should be. I miss lilacs from Michigan. Growing up they were just everywhere. Out here in So Cal it doesn’t get cold enough for them. That is a lovely bouquet.

Lilacs smell heavenly! I don’t even care what color the blooms are.

Some years we hardly have any rabbits around, but I always enjoy seeing them. Of course, I don’t have a garden, either!

I saw a baby bunny when I was out walking this morning. But he hopped into a thicket before I could photograph him/her.

What a cutie pie, Claudia! (Your girl Scout as well as that bunny.) How nice to have a Sunday at home, puttering around. I love days like that. I hope you’re having a good week!

Welcome!

Welcome!

I live in a little cottage in the country with my husband. It's a sweet place, sheltered by old trees and surrounded by gardens. The inside is full of the things we love. I love to write, I love my camera, I love creating, I love gardening. My decorating style is eclectic; full of vintage and a bit of whimsy.

I've worked in the theater for more years than I can count. I'm currently a voice, speech, dialect and text coach freelancing on Broadway, off Broadway, and in regional theater.

Thanks for stopping by.
