Little Lilac that could

May 14, 2009 at 8:53 pm by Claudia

The little Lilac that could…proof that my Lilac bush survived the winter and is blooming. Pardon the long grass in the photo. That’s the kind of thing I normally take care of with the clippers. But I’m not home, as you know. I’m just happy to see the blossoms. If only photos came with a scent feature!

Yeah! I love lilacs. I planted new bushes in the fall too. One bloomed a couple weeks ago. The scent was light but heavenly. Just think how much bigger they’ll be next year!!

i loooooove lilacs. their scent is one of my most favorite smells. i pulled over while driving the other day because i spotted a bush that looked like it wasn’t part of a lot and grabbed a small branch. this year i must plant a bush of my own. they’re the best!

    Hey Claudia
I also have a lilac bush and tree. My tree bloomed in the spring, and again in late fall. What’s up with that? I thought I won the lottery.
As for TJ. I used to shop there all the time while living in AZ…they were fairly new. I loved it also. Canada has 0, none. I think the closest would be in the State of N.Y. So I guess if I drove about 8 hours I would find one. lol
Have a grand time with hubby. oh and I don’t think you talk too much.
    Love Claudie

What beautiful lilacs! Are they easy to grow? Maybe I should plant some at Jacaranda Cottage too. I’m not a gardener, but I do appreciate a beautiful garden when I see one! Wishing you a wonderful weekend sweetie!

Oh, that’s such a pretty color! I have a double white lilac bush (and I say bush with tongue-in-cheek)… Every spring it blooms with about 3 lilacs! I have no idea why, but this year it has many more – maybe 10 or so! It’s a scraggly little thing that I planted over 20 years ago, so even though it doesn’t bloom much I have a soft spot for it!

I hope your plays are going great and that you’re having a blast with hubby in town!!… Donna @ An Enchanted Cottage

    Hi Claudia!

Doesn’t it just give you hope? I love those little seasonal miracles!! Lilacs are so vintagey great.
When I lived in the trailer there was a bush outside and one of my first efforts was to paint them on a pillow!

    love, kelee

Welcome!

Welcome!

I live in a little cottage in the country with my husband. It's a sweet place, sheltered by old trees and surrounded by gardens. The inside is full of the things we love. I love to write, I love my camera, I love creating, I love gardening. My decorating style is eclectic; full of vintage and a bit of whimsy.

I've worked in the theater for more years than I can count. I'm currently a voice, speech, dialect and text coach freelancing on Broadway, off Broadway, and in regional theater.

Thanks for stopping by.
