Sorry for the late post – there were some problems with the blog and malware this morning, so I was on the phone with my host and also sent a message to my security company. This is the stuff that makes me want to yell “That’s it! No more blog!”
Anyway, I have yet to hear from my security company, but my host says that it looks like their new scanner found the initial problem and removed the malicious info. Okay good! – but I won’t relax until the security company confirms that.
Updates to the Beacon Hill:
I added wallpaper to the 3rd floor den. I love this pattern. It’s from the same woman that sold me the kitchen and bedroom wallpaper. This room is sort of a mess. It was put together incorrectly and doing anything with it always involves some problem. Nevertheless, the dollhouse is only for me, so I can handle the imperfections. And disguise them, if possible.
Yesterday, I installed flooring on the second floor landing. It takes forever and I worked on it for about 5 hours. The area behind the rear railing was a pain in the tush. I had to do it all by feel as I can’t see back there. At one point, I had the iPhone flashlight on so I could try to see something.
Okay…blurry, and I fully realize that you may not like this, but this is current look of the buffet.
I mixed this with a lighter shade of blue and some black.
It’s growing on me. I’m going to leave it as is for the time being. I like this color.
I may add some sort of vase or something – if I have anything on hand.
Lots of work this week on the Beacon Hill. Next up: floor for the 3rd floor landing and for the den.
Guys, with all the crap I had to deal with this morning, and this late posting, I’m going to take tomorrow off. I’ll be back on Monday.

sorry to hear about the malware (why do some people use their time and skills to intentionally hurt others?!? argh). hope you hear good confirmation from the security people soon.
your own time and skills are making the beacon hill look very good. for what it’s worth, i love the color of the buffet.
i do not (do not, do not, do not!) need another hobby, but i found one … making linocut prints. that’s from taking a short class last monday. even though it relies on sketching (not one of my strong suits) and steady hands (i have some tremors in my hands, mostly my left one), i am pleased with how my linocut came out, had a lot of fun in the process, and will definitely do it again. i loved it! :)

Good Afternoon Claudia! I am glad to see you are okay and able to post in spite of blog security problems. I had a few worried moments about all the rain in the Hudson Valley over the past few days! Not sure quite how close you are to the flooding. Too much is too much.
As for all the work on The Beacon Hill… I Love… Adore!, that wallpaper! And I Love the blue on the buffet…. really lovely feeling to that piece now! Old, worn out, handed down treasured and re-decorated over and over again! It is especially appropriate that it came to you from the house’s previous owners… I love that bit of history too! You are doing such wonderful work with this house… So much fun to be along for the ride. And yes, I feel your pain with that hallway… remembering trying to finish the front hall of the Willowcrest and get a light in there…. not to mention the door hinges! (They wanted you to glue the door in place…. not on my watch! Lol!) I hope you get the all clear from your security folks… and enjoy your weekend! And I hope you are well away from the floods!

I love all the progress on the Beacon Hill house. The wall paper is stunning. Today is two weeks since I lost my cat Annie and I miss her so much but I had already made the decision she would be my last cat. I’m 76 and with health issues so it’s not fair for me to have another pet as it is getting harder and harder for me to care for one. I think that is making this loss so hard to get my head around. My friend who was with me cleaned up all of Annie’s things and took leftover food etc out of the house so I didn’t have too. So grateful. School starts next Wed here in Georgia so my Grands are getting ready for that. Tiger will be a Sophomore in High School and Scout will be a 6th grader in Middle School. They are growing up so fast but I am so blessed to be able to spend time and enjoy them. Hoping you and Don have a great weekend.
I’m so sorry about Annie, Linda. We sort of feel the same way – we are too old to adopt another animal and we have no family around here to take a pet should we pass away. Bless you, I remember when you first adopted her.

The wallpaper looks great. The buffet color goes very well with the wallpaper.
We got almost 2 inches of rain that started yesterday..and continues at least this morning. Hurrah! We are going to a butterfly show today. It’s so cool to be surrounded by hundreds of butterflies from all over. Hope i get a landing or two.
