The basic outline of the art studio is taking shape. There are lots of touch ups to do, but since the walls will be covered with art (hopefully) and it will be full of ‘stuff,’ I’m not too concerned with perfection.
It took many coats of white paint to get it to this stage. It could use another coat, and the ceiling needs more paint. But my patience with painting wore thin and I stopped for the day.
We mowed the front lawn on Wednesday morning, It was very humid. I was supposed to be putting the mower away after mowing the edge of the corral. Don had gone inside. I ended up mowing the corral, too. Typical. I pushed it a bit too much. Don’s words to me when I entered the house: “I know what you did.”
Yep! He’ll sometimes say “Lucy….!” in a Ricky Ricardo voice.
We took it easy yesterday, though I did shoot a video of our end-of-the-summer gardens. I added music to it and posted it on my YouTube Channel. You might like it. Here’s the link. It’s so pretty, if I do say so myself!
We watched Casablanca last night. No words. Truly one of my top five movies. We can’t stop talking about it even though we’ve seen it many, many times.
It’s a beautiful day today and I plan on enjoying our property and our porch.

“lucy… i know what you did” … haha! but i understand if don was worried that you had done too much hard work in hot weather. and i also understand your feeling that, even if you enjoy it, that stuff just needed to get done. you two are a great couple and i’m happy for you to have found each other.

i have an errand this morning, then hope to finish going through decades of old tax paperwork today. out of curiosity, i’ve been making a list, by year, of where i worked (for twenty or more years, it was a full-time job and a part-time one, too, because of school loans for a while, and mostly due to the not-great pay of a social worker), how much i earned and what my irs debt or refunds were. i have a few more years of tax papers to go through (i can only tolerate sitting and doing that a bit at a time) and will be so glad to have them professionally shredded and gone! then i, too, am going to take some time to just be and give thanks.

Hey there. Love the pictures. That butterfly is amazing! I’m catching up. Love your funky floor. We still have old lino in our laundry. I’ve been busy around here. My evenings are slowed right down. My husband has adhd and once he’s home he needs my attention.
I’ve been feeling depressed and it’s in part my neck hurting. Tbe net says it may be like ‘excruciating pain’. (what would we do without spell check, and also our revising). Also has to do with worry.
My summer is complete. I kayaked our river, under the majestic red coulees. What a most peaceful, amazing evening as the sun set. I saw a couple teenage girls playing the water, as a mom supervised nearby. Precious! Life is really good, you know.
I loved hearing your voice – it has such a rich tone to it. Oh, I just loved Out of Africa. I always say I’ll watch it again. You mention movies and then I forget. Man

I love your voice too and the art room. I know what you mean about “just do it myself!” I tend to do that a lot because then I know it is done right. Then Bill will say “I was going to do that” after I am all done…..thanks honey😊.
We had a whopper storm in Phoenix 2 nights ago. More wind and loud thunder than we have ever had. Gracie was scared and my sister, who lives a block away, needs a new roof! I always say climate change! And what is with our administration slaughtering horses!! I can’t take anymore!!
