Midweek

Title: Waiting for Spring.

I get it, girls. Aren’t we all? It’s hard to believe but in the not too distant future, there will be pots full of flowers on this table. The pretty background I often use for photos will be back.

I cannot wait.

Our local nursery has reopened for the season – I think that happened about a week ago. I need to stop by and buy some seeds and potting soil. And some pansies, of course, as they are the first flowers that I pot in the spring. Next week, clean up begins on the property, though I’ve already carried lots of fallen tree branches up to the woods. Once I’m sure we have no more freezes in the forecast, I’ll started uncovering the garden beds.

The very thought of it brings me peace.

I’ve been under the weather the last few days with a sinus flare up. I’m still not feeling well.

The fabric eggs are in the yellow Fiesta compote. I’ll take a photo later today.

I’m about to finish James Lee Burke’s latest mystery – The Hadacol Boogie. I’ve read everything by Burke. He is a poet. A poet who writes about violence and crime but at the same time shows there is beauty in everything. I’m sure grateful for him.

When a fallen leaf from a rubber plant takes out part of the mini studio…

More on Friday.

Stay safe.

Happy Wednesday.

It’s cold here today but warming up tomorrow, although, it is supposed to rain a lot this week.
Gosh, that leaf in the mini studio really points out how miniature those pieces are. They look so real!

We have had spring for a few weeks now and my allergies have been horrible. Starting to calm down a bit and I’m so glad. I had my iron infusion and a recheck of my blood and I’m doing so much better. Now to find some energy and enjoy some outdoor time when the pollen blows away!

Hi Claudia, I know I have been missing in action lately. Our life has been crazy! I think I told you my son , who is 45, had open heart surgery. He is doing good now but what a nightmare experience. They had to put a mechanical valve in. He finally went back to work this week. Just as I thought things were calming down, Bill got appendicitis Friday night. I was up for 36 hours straight! Hope you are feeling better!

Bill is doing good. We still have Gracie, our Golden, who was diagnosed with liver cancer 4 months ago but she is still with us. We cherish every day with her.

Whew! For a minute I thought Don had a guitar mishap!

I hear you on the sinuses. I had my sinus surgery on Monday and am hoping it helps. It wasn’t nearly so bad as the last time, some 20 years ago.

I’m itchy to get blooms too. I saw pansies at Kroger the other day — they looked a bit the worse for wear but it was a good sign!

Glad the surgery went well, Jeanie.

This is the tricky time – waiting until we can get our flowers. But we have to be patient, darn it.

      Stay safe.

Claudia, along with the rain,,,,,the news,,,,,the passing of time, the need for peace and tranquility and yet the longing for stimulation……it is a wonder we even get out of bed. Still, I have to brace myself for the oncoming season of allergies. Determined to nip them in the bud. (sure) Take care …..fellow sufferers. Never sure what the day holds.

We made it …..now for another cup of coffee. Looking forward to your photos…..I need inspiration.

How did I not realize yesterday was Wednesday? That rubber tree leaf really puts things into perspective in the miniature world. Nice capture.

It is raining here today…and probably tomorrow. After the hydrangea cleanup, we moved to shaping our evergreens. Most of that is done…just waiting for the next dry day to finish. Then it’ll be unto cleaning up the beds.
The nurseries are opening up soon here…April 23rd seems to be a common date. I can’t wait either.

Sorry to hear you are not feeling well. Hope today will be better for you. Just rest up and enjoy your day! ;)

Welcome!

Welcome!

I live in a little cottage in the country with my husband. It's a sweet place, sheltered by old trees and surrounded by gardens. The inside is full of the things we love. I love to write, I love my camera, I love creating, I love gardening. My decorating style is eclectic; full of vintage and a bit of whimsy.

I've worked in the theater for more years than I can count. I'm currently a voice, speech, dialect and text coach freelancing on Broadway, off Broadway, and in regional theater.

Thanks for stopping by.
