Gosh, what did I do yesterday? Cleaned up the office, stashed bags that hold decorations in the closet in the office. At the same time, I retrieved the boxes which hold my mini Christmas trees and looked for the smaller mini decorations in my drawers. I brought everything downstairs. By the way, I found a little basket and, I don’t know what it’s taken me this long to think of this, used it to corral all the small minis and bring them downstairs.
I still have much to do with this modern house. I haven’t committed to wallpaper or flooring or any other furniture. But I did make this tree last year and I like the way it looks in this room.
Caroline decorates her den because the tree works better there than in the living room. She’s just about done; she just has to put that box of Shiny Brites away.
She made a Christmas cake.
Living room decorations are on the spare side. Just a mini tree here and there.
And the vintage house is sitting on top of the china cabinet where there’s been a fresh snowfall. No tree yet. I’ve yet to make it. It involves a lot of glue. A lot of glue. So I have to be in the mood.
All in all, the houses look rather festive, except for the house-in-progress, where the contractor is very slow and the owners are frustrated and not in the mood to decorate this season.
It’s very cold here today. But rain is coming tomorrow. Need I say the weather has been all over the place here?
Happy Sunday.

Hi Claudia! Can’t not let you know how amazing the miniature pottery looks on the mantle! All the miniatures, both houses and goods, are splendid!
Merry Christmas!
Claudia says
Thank you, Kelly!
Trudy Mintun says
I love the houses Claudia. I didn’t think I would like the modern house, but you’ve made it work.
For whatever reason the auctioneers sold all of my Christmas decorations that I had been collecting since day one. We got a new one every year. For every year we were married 28. All gone. I have a few decorationsfrom thrift stores that I’ve picked up. A bit of cheer.
We are expecting 11 inches of snow today and tomorrow. I’ll trade you.
Trudy Mintun says
We didn’t get 11. Only 9.
Chris K in Wisconsin says
Love all the trees and all of the decorations. Caroline is always so busy!! The outdoor decorations on the vintage house are just lovely!! Fun!
43* here today, and then turning cold and an inch or so of snow set for tomorrow into Tues. Down into the single digits for the rest of the week. Stay warm, and have a grand Sunday!!
Claudia says
Rainy here today (Monday) – rather a dreary day. Time for some Christmas music to cheer us up! Thanks, Chris.
Elaine says
I saved your dolls house pictures in my dolls house folder. I am in Florida now for the winter so can’t work on my house or decorate for Christmas. You inspire me. Are you going to make little party hats for all the sheep? Have a nice rest. Yours truly Elaine
Claudia says
I don’t think so. The Lamb with the Party Hat is my first, and most special putz sheep, so she will be the only one wearing a hat. They’re not easy to make and keeping them on the head is quite tricky!
Rue says
I love the plum pudding, it isn’t Christmas until you have scorched your eyebrows trying to light it!
Claudia says
Of course – it’s plum pudding, not cake. Thanks, Rue!
Rue says
I wasn’t trying to correct you, promise.
Claudia says
Oh, I know! I realize I had the wrong name for it!
Shanna says
Your mini’s are all fabulous and so festive! Your accessories really make them so inviting.
Claudia says
Thank you, Shanna! It’s fun to decorate the little houses.
.Melanie says
Love all this mini decorating!
The weather here is all over the place, too. We just had a string of sunny days – which I loved. Now it’s back to cloudy and gray, rain comes in tonight, then a few days of VERY cold weather. We put the flannel sheets on the bed in preparation for that!
Claudia says
Rainy and cold here today. Simply dreary! Thanks, Melanie!
Donnamae says
Both you and Caroline have been busy. The cottage looks lovely….as does the vintage house. Love those wreaths.
Snow tomorrow…then cold, but our outdoor lights were completed yesterday, and look nice. They’ll look better with snow, though. Now…to the tree. Enjoy your day! ;)
Claudia says
The rain we’re getting today is going to get rid of a lot of our snow. That’s good…and bad (in terms of Christmas lights!) Thanks, Donna.

Love the decorations and the houses–gorgeous. I love this time of year. I gave 20-30 boxes of decorations to my kids, grands, and friends when I moved to apartment living. Hundreds and hundreds of ornaments…too much work goes into decorating and purchasing and memories to do this for a couple of weeks. I say start the earlier the better-why not? It is a time of celebration and celebrating longer is fantastic. My England bloggers start early and never apologize for doing so before Thanksgiving-lol-of course they don’t do that…however, I say one should do what feels comfortable and makes happiness in the home…love your blog so so so much…
Claudia says
Thank you, Brenda. I usually don’t start decorating until a bit later in December and I like to leave some room between holidays. But I did start a week earlier this year and it was because we were in the mood to decorate.
Vicki says
Such a treat when you showcase your doll houses. I want to shrink myself and live in them! They’re so realistic; museum-quality. Yet whimsical and fun. Great job!
Claudia says
Thank you, Vicki!

i am impressed by the details on and your patience to work with such teeny tiny things! though it sounds like this is (usually) more like play for you. great job, claudia!
hope you are feeling more rested.
did you go back to the shop? :)
hope you enjoy a nice night.

Claudia says
It is play at Christmas time. And it’s work the rest of the time!
We went back to the shop. See today’s post. Thanks, Kathy.

The rooms look so lovely and festive.

Thank you, Marilyn!

Such a cute little house Claudia, love the Christmas tree.
Claudia says
Thank you, Norma!
NYCgirl says
All gorgeous! And, I heartily second the party hats for sheep idea with all your spare time 😁
Claudia says
I think the original Lamb with the Party Hat (and my first putz sheep) is the only one that’s going to get to wear a party hat. By the way, it falls off all the time. I don’t want to be tweaking hats for all those sheep! Thanks!
jeanie says
This is just about too darling for words. Of course, Caroline’s cottage is my favorite, but really? I love them all. Can’t wait to see what you do with the mid-Century but I love the tree!
Claudia says
Thank you, Jeanie. For some reason, I can’t quite get a handle on what I want to do with the modern house. It will come.
Kay Nickel says
How fun! I enjoyed the house tour.
Claudia says
Thanks, Kay!
