We’re going to be getting high winds today. Oh, yippee. Currently, it’s raining.
So, we’re hanging out inside today. I spent part of yesterday moving outdoor furniture onto the porch and putting the last of the pots back in the shed. Don moved the vintage pots that are in the secret garden to the porch. Having so much snow so early in December threw me off and I didn’t get around to that until now.
Everything is secured.
Today’s holiday photos are of the dollhouses. I really did the bare minimum this year. I add the trees and some presents, but then, because I always display the exterior of the dollhouses instead of the interior, I don’t really see any of the decorations.

Hummingbird Cottage den decorated for the season.

Dove Cottage. Just like life-sized houses, the furniture needs to be moved to accommodate the Christmas tree.
The potted palm has been moved upstairs to the art studio until the tree comes down.

And the Lake House uses a vintage aluminum tree.
Every year, I have to re-glue some of the ornaments. They fall off in the storage boxes.
Stay safe.
Happy Friday.

All wonderful! These make me so happy!
Oh, good! So glad you enjoyed the pics, Jeanie.

Hi Claudia! Views into your dollhouses always make my day! Thank you for sharing them! :)
You’re so very welcome, Betsy!
Thank you.
Stay safe.
such sweetness and attention to detail! glad you decorated some dollhouses and shared it with us as it’s fun to see. inspiring too. thank you.
i know you don’t like wind, either, so best wishes on the weather. it’s been extra-windy here, too, so my sister and i walked in the mall yesterday and this morning. i enjoy and get so much more from walking outside and love winter (favorite season), but easily choose the mall rather than fight 40 – 60 mph gusts and sustained winds.
made ten stops yesterday so am now staying put today. i want to just sit and knit for long stretches of time. also eat, take a nap, and watch house/craft room tours and decluttering videos online. expect all of that to happen.
stay safe, everyone, and be well. please do and look for happy things, the good news. they’re out there, too.

Sounds like a perfect day, Kathy!

They look fabulous! There is a new BBC programme called Marvellous Miniature Workshop started recently, whereby, a team of experts recreate an interior that meant something special to someone.
First in the series was a public library where the lady in question met her future husband as teenagers in the late 1950s/early 1960s.
Using old photos, historical records and the lady’s memory, the team made a recreation of the interior.
It was wonderful, they made 3000 tiny books and catalogue drawers etc.
She was so moved as her husband had passed away and was able to take the model home with her.
Happy Friday, keep safe and secure in your lovely home.
I’ver read about that program. There’s a new wave of ‘mini making contests’ airing on both sides of the Atlantic. Not my cup of tea because EVERYTHING I see aired is in contest form. But this one sounds lovely!
Stay safe, Dee Dee.
Claudia, you’ve decorated your dollhouses beautifully for Christmas. Very enchanting. Stay out of that wind and enjoy your weekend. Hugs, Elaine
Thank you so much, Elaine!

Thank you, Leslie!

I enjoy seeing your big cottage tree and the three mini-trees. I can’t have any holiday trees because of my three overly curious rambunctious cats.
And I couldn’t put up the holiday lights because I can’t get the extension ladder out (blocked by leftover construction materials from the bathroom renovation). So, I put out some ground level lighted decorations outside.
We also brought our mini-tree and a few strings of lights to my Mom’s. She enjoys the lights. At 98, she deserves some decorations since she doesn’t want to bother doing them herself.
It’s such a sweet thing to do – to share a tree and some lights to brighten your mom’s space.
Stay safe, Wendy.
Looks so sweet!
Thank you, Ellen.

Beautiful photos, Claudia. I am having trouble finding my Christmas spirit this year- the country feels like its is sleepwalking. We are due for a national awakening. Your post helped, even if just for a moment. Thank you.
It’s very difficult, isn’t it? We are struggling, as well. But we’re determined to find quiet moments of joy.
Stay safe, Maria.
So pretty!
Thank you, Betsy!

I love your doll house Christmas decorations.
