The high today will be 95 – the heat index over 100. Right now, at 7:30 am, it’s bearable. My congested head tells me it’s very humid out there. Anyway, here we go. Tomorrow, it will be 101. I’m watering twice a day, doing my best to help the plants hang in there during this dangerous stretch.
The wallpaper saga has an update. I wrote the seller on Monday, expressing my frustration (firmly but politely.) The tracking number had been issued 8 days ago at that point, yet the package had not arrived at the post office. No responses to any of my questions. I always sign up for updates when I’m tracking something and yesterday, late in the day, I finally got an update. It had arrived at the DC post office. Not only had it arrived, it then left the post office to go off on its journey. No response or explanation from the seller, but it’s now very clear to me that she issues a tracking number so it seems like all is in process and then does nothing with the package for several days at minimum.
I need the replacement wallpaper and she’s the only seller who carries it. Otherwise, I would have cancelled the order. But that’s it. I will not order from her again. One time? A fluke…maybe. Twice? Inexcusable.
The post office says it should be here by Friday. Meanwhile, the other wallpaper (for the hallways) order I placed is still at the local post office in Minnesota. This is coming from a larger company and it’s part of a carton filled with lots of other orders.
Okay.
Would you like to meet Mini Stella?

Can you believe this?
Don and I opened the package together and we were gobsmacked! It’s our beloved Stella in 1:12 mini size.

It arrived later in the day and I was running around trying to find a good spot for a photo – late afternoon light is always problematic.
3D printed items are made of plastic/resin.
This is the unpainted version of Stella and I think I will leave her as is. Trying to recreate the porcelain finish without creating paint brush lines might fail and I don’t want to try to tape off tiny little sections of the stove. I’m quite happy with her the way she is. By the way, all four doors open and there are racks that can be placed in 3 different positions!
The price was $60. The other stove I was considering was over $300. That makes this one-fifth of that price. I couldn’t be happier! The shop owners waited two days before they listed it for other miniature collectors so I had time to write a post and link to them. Mini Stella is highly popular and I think she’ll be a hit. I’m happy to be part of this creation. The desire, the photos, and the measurements all came from me.

Hurrah!
Nor more work on the Beacon Hill until I get the wallpaper. (It will be too hot, anyway.) Then I’ll get that kitchen ready for Mini Stella.
Okay, everyone. Stay cool!
And stay safe.
Happy Wednesday.

Mini Stella is a STAR!!! Love how detailed she is. So hot outside!! Stay safe and cool!!
I will. Though I have to go ouside frequently to water!
Stay safe, Linda.
oh, little stella is perfect! congratulations on using your creativity in yet another way and enjoying it be well-received by other miniaturists. :)
prayers for all (people, animals, flowers and crops … ) to stay safe in the high heat and humidity!
just like last year, we are now weeks into a lawn-watering ban. the only exceptions are new sod and fruit/vegetable gardens, but we will water the small tree out front as needed because it is in our tiny front lawn that’s maybe 6 feet by 8 feet (the rest is concrete … the street, and ours and our neighbors’ driveways) and so doesn’t have much ground from which to get water. poor thing.
heading out soon to get my glasses repaired. took an unintended nap and a lens popped out. at least it can be fixed quickly and at no big expense.
happy, safe wednesday!
kathy
Thanks so much, Kathy.
Stay safe.
Good Morning Claudia! What a Triumph!!! Bravo all around! Going with your gut, asking for help, getting fantastic results on a self designed custom order….. ! WOW! Stella is the “Cadillac” of kitchen stoves, in my opinion, and Mini-Stella is going to start a new trend! :):):)I can’t wait to see the pics! As for the wall paper saga…. she’s probably “moonlighting” and is overwhelmed in her RL, but still, the lack of messaging is really not acceptable. I hope the wallpaper works with the new installation and that the hallway paper is what you hoped when it gets there.
The heat is going to be unbearable here too… (95 today, 102 tomorrow, 97 on Friday…) we are, like you, under-AC’d (only two small units for the whole house) and are just going to endure. At least we have a cellar that does stay cool and we can go there if needed. Hang in there!
I don’t know if it has to do with moonlighting. This has been an ongoing problem and reading the comments on orders is very interesting. And even if she’s moonlighting, she shouldn’t be lying about what’s going on. Just be honest. I have an Etsy shop. I always got every order out in 1-3 days and if, for some reason, I had to miss that deadline, I let the buyer know. No excuses.
Our basement is entered from outside and it’s not a place in which you want to hang out!
Stay safe, Betsy.

Oh my gosh, this is unbelievable, you did a good job! Can’t wait to see it in your Beacon Hill kitchen!
Stay cool in this heatwave!
Helga
Thank you so much, dear Helga!
Stay safe.
Mini Stella is amazing! Congratulations on your contribution to the creation.
I wonder if the wallpaper vendor has to wait for someone else to pick up packages to be mailed, or some logistics thing like that. No excuse for not responding to your questions, but as you say you are over a barrel.
Its hot down here south of you too, and I am thankful for air-conditioning.
Ceci
No, I doubt it. And if the post office comes to pick it up, it usually takes place within a day or two at the latest. 12 days since the order, 8 days since the tracking number was issued, finally shipping out yesterday. That is not good customer service.
Thanks so much, Ceci.
Stay safe.
I love mini-Stella! Good job with the measurements and providing photos to the people with the printer. I find 3-D printing fascinating. You’ll be happy with mini-Stellla for years. It will definitely be the centerpiece of the Beacon Hill kitchen.
I love it so much!
Thanks, Wendy.
Stay safe.
Mini Stella is such a beauty!
We’re also trying to stay cool down here.
It feels like 110 degrees right now according to my weather app.
It’s dreadful.
Stay safe, Shanna.
