Lots of work was done outside yesterday. I dug up a big outcropping of some wild plant that was taking over the area right in front of the big garden bed. I pruned, as best I could and there’s more to be done today, as well as mowing. Mowing has popped up on the to do list because I looked at the forecast and after today – it will be in the high 80s to the mid 90s for about 4 days. Not the kind of weather for mowing. No rain for a while, so that’s good. I was so tired after yesterday’s work, but needs must!
It is a lovely, beautifully sunny day, so that will help.
My teeny little budget is keeping me from ordering more mini wallpaper at the moment, so I’m in an in-between stage in the renovation. Just dreaming up ideas at the moment. And I’m still determined to figure out how to tackle the wallpapering of the bedroom. What a glutton for punishment I am!
Here’s a little something that arrived in yesterday’s mail.

A painting (real) surrounded by a wooden mat and tramp art/victorian frame. I couldn’t believe it when I saw it on my Instagram mini feed. She has a few more tramp art frames and I covet them. Re-hanging our tramp art framed angel a few months back reminded me of how much I love this form of creative expression.
Also, sheep!!
Isn’t this exquisite?
It will most likely go in the Beacon Hill living room, but I’m holding off on hanging anything until the room is closer to being finished.
It took a long, long time, but my love of dollhouse miniatures has come back and for that I am grateful.
Stay safe.
Happy Saturday.

and i’m glad you share your love of dollhouse miniatures here for us to see, learn about and enjoy. thank you!
hope you have no aches or allergic trouble for doing all that gardening and mowing.
happy, safe weekend!
kathy
Unfortunately, I will have all of the above. It’s just the way it is.
Stay safe, Kathy.
Exquisite details on the tramp art….you were lucky to get that. I’m sure you can problem solve your way through the wallpaper dilemma….wishing you good luck.
We are in the midst of the 80 degree weather here….and it’s too hot too soon. I would swear I had a hot flash last night…lol. Unfortunately with the heat comes humidity, and storms. We had one last night. Might have to turn on the air today…I just can’t take the heat anymore. I have annuals to plant, but with hail predicted Sunday and Monday, I might hold off til Tuesday.
Don’t work too hard this weekend…and stay cool! Enjoy your day! ;)
Yes. 79 degrees today – 95 degrees on Wednesday. Way too hot.
We had to mow this morning and I had to water everything since it’s so hot.
A/C units will go in the windows in the next couple of days.
Stay safe, Donnamae.
The tramp art is lovely and will be right at home in Beacon Hill.
I find that when I’m away from one of my craft interests for some time, I think I’ve lost interest. But then I slowly start a new project in that craft form and find I’m excited and feel like it’s almost brand new. I’m pleased you e rediscovered miniatures. I sure miss seeing and reading about your houses, though Blythe is interesting too.
Thank you, Wendy.
Blythe is wonderful, of course, but completely different from creating in miniature.

I’m so happy to see you back to one of your favorite pastimes!! Love the painting.
Thank you so much, Linda!
I really needed something to grab my attention (away from the horrors of Orange) and thankfully, it finally did.

Beautiful little piece of tramp art for Beacon Hill. When I first saw it, I didn’t realize it was so tiny until I saw that you were holding it in the palm of your hand. The heat of summer arriving in May is a little scary to say the least. Don’t overdo the mowing. Hugs, Elaine
It’s too hot this week, Elaine!
Thanks so much.

Hi Claudia! The Tramp art is lovely and serene and perfect for the Beacon Hill! I am glad you snagged it! And I, too, am very glad your mini mode has grabbed you again! :):) I am obsessed and have been all my life, even though I have had to “put it away” for large sections of my life. I always knew that “someday” I would have the time to really focus in and revel in the tinies! It is such a wonderful hobby, and for me at least, it brings together all the interests and talents that I have… painting, building, sewing, story telling, history, miniatures…. it ties it all together into one big creative joy! I am so glad it is bringing you joy again!
Thank you, Betsy!
We are lucky that we have this hobby.

Good lord, if I did all that, I’d be dead! Well done, Claudia. You deserve lots of R&R!
That little tramp art piece is a treasure. I’m so glad you found it!
I’m so thrilled with it!
Thanks, Jeanie.

With your talents, I bet you could create your own wallpaper. What fun it would be to see what your mind conjures up.
Regards,
Anne
Oh, how kind you are, Anne!
You have more faith in me than I do!

My own dollhouse project has sat untouched for six months or more. I haven’t been in the mood to work on it, partially because I’ve come to a tricky part of the build. I felt bad about it until I read someone talking about how creative projects require lot of energy, just like everything else. Considering everything that has been going on in life (illnesses, deaths, home improvement projects, being shorthanded at work), I realized that I didn’t have the energy to spare, and that’s okay. I’m starting to get the itch again, though, so I’ll pull my tools out soon.
When it’s the right time, you’ll know, Bridget.

I am totally in love with the mini art of sheep!!! That is an amazing little piece. LOVE it.
Isn’t it? Thanks so much, Dawn.
