This morning. It’s still unseasonably warm out there – lovely, of course – but tomorrow will bring colder temperatures, so we’ll do our best to enjoy today. It was actually a little too warm yesterday – 76 degrees. Both of us mentioned that we were ready for colder temperatures.
Remind me of that in a month or so.
Today will be a self-imposed ‘No news’ day. I’m nervous enough about the election, but there’s nothing I can do now but VOTE. We are voting tomorrow, though we could have voted early. But Don likes the ‘event’ of voting on Election Day itself and since we don’t have any conflicts, that’s what we’re going to do.
There’s so much I could say, but you know how I feel and what I believe. The GOP lacks a moral compass of any kind at the moment. Voting for one issue – like inflation, which is happening globally – when the party you think will rescue you from that doesn’t have a plan and voted against the Inflation Reduction Act is the proverbial “not seeing the forest for the trees.”
Our democracy is at stake.
Anyway, my plan is to stay away from Twitter today. (We’ll see how that goes.) I’m sure some news will find me, no matter how hard I try to avoid it. But I’m going to retreat into puzzle land and start a new book. And play with some dolls.
I’ve found that whenever I’m feeling blue or worried, grabbing one of the girls, dressing her in something fresh, then taking a photo of her lifts my mood. So that will probably happen today.
Speaking of which, I found two of the girls upstairs in the studio:
They look confused. They’re probably wondering why they don’t fit inside, because shouldn’t my world be all about them? They’ve told me they’re going to supervise when I start to work on the Beacon Hill.
Looks like it might get crowded in my little space.
Hang in there, everyone. Vote.
#Roevember.
Stay safe.
Happy Monday.

Your girls are snoopervising. Good little helpers, no doubt. It’s another beautiful fall day here, too, but very windy. We must enjoy them while we can. I’ll be thinking of you all as we watch the results of the mid-terms. Enjoy playing dolls. Hugs, Elaine
Claudia says
Thank you, Elaine.
Stay safe.

Definitely seems like a good day to stay away from the news and find better diversions… I’m going to do my best, too, to stay warm and settle with a good book!
The girls do look like they’re wondering why they don’t fit in….guess we all feel that on occasion!
Have a cozy day!
Claudia says
We sure do!
Stay safe, Barrie.

Mom and I voted Absentee Ballot and I made sure it arrived and was logged into the system. Praying for GOOD results tomorrow. Georgia has some changes I’m praying happen.
Claudia says
And I know exactly what those changes you hope for are.
Stay safe, Linda.

beautiful photo of a beautiful view. know you enjoy that.
have fun with the puzzle, book and don and the girls.
i have the same plan to limit news-watching. there are so many problems in this country and all over the world, so much negativity …. also, so many political commercials. nerve-wracking … so much at stake!
cool temperatures and windy here. had a t-shirt, cardigan and two fleece jackets on for yesterday’s walk and was still cold. takes time to acclimate.
getting a slow start here for not sleeping well last night. i can hear roofers overhead right now … glad about that part.
hope everyone has a good day. stay safe!
kathy
Claudia says
I’ll be glad to see the political ads go!
Stay safe, Kathy.

It is a beautiful day here in Michigan. We have some final lawn cleanup to finish today. Later a drive by Lake Mich and a walk at the state park…lots of walking trails there.
I am trying to avoid news today too. We have already voted.
Take care
Claudia says
Thanks, Marilyn.
Stay safe.
Darlene says
We probably won’t know the result of some races for days because it split down the middle. I’m hoping we get good moral, selfless, intelligent people voted in regardless of party. Keeping my fingers crossed. I’m not watching the news, so I’ll hear on this blog either the good or bad news. HA HA
Weather in Nebraska has been seasonably warm, but we did get just a small about of snow late last week. It’s so dry we desperately need a lot of snow this winter.
Have a great day everyone.
Claudia says
We are much colder today, Darlene. Supposed to go down to 29 degrees tonight!
Stay safe.

I’m hoping for the best tomorrow, while at the same time being scared to death. Avoiding the news today is going to be hard, but I’m going to try. We will be voting in person tomorrow…for some reason, it just feels right. But…as far as right now is concerned….I’m a basket case!
We worked outside last week and yesterday….all leaves have been piled up for collection, as well as some of the yard debris. Saturday, in sleet and driving rain, we went to and stayed for, an entire football game at UW. Were we cold and wet? Absolutely! Were we crazy? Yeah…probably! But…all 8 of us are tried and true fans, and that’s just what we had to do to cheer our Badgers on.
It’s back to sunny and cool temps today…I plan on relaxing today. Read some and catch up on some PBS shows….that should keep my mind sane. Enjoy your dolls! ;)
Chris K in WI says
That was quite a game, Donnamae. Our daughter has season tix and our son and DIL took her tix for that game. They were kind of bummed with the prospect of the weather, but said they ended up having a wonderful time.
I am a total wreck about the election. Hubs is working the polls, and that makes me a bit worried as well. That, I find, is absolutely crazy that we have to worry about such things. I just am sick thinking about the ramifications we might be facing come Wed morning (or whenever things become “final”….whatever that even means anymore).
Claudia says
I did sneak in some Twitter time, but only briefly.
Praying for democracy.
You had fun at the game so it was worth it!
Stay safe.
kaye says
I hope, hope and hope more that the republicans loose from one end of this country to the next.
Take Care,
Kaye
Claudia says
ME TOO!
Stay safe, Kaye.

Tell the girls that Beacon Hill is a miniature. That means smaller than they are!
Hang in there. Sometimes there are miracles.
Claudia says
They can’t conceive of smaller than they are!
Stay safe, Jeanie.
