Sorry, this is a little blurry. It must have been too dark when I took it. I’ll try to get a better picture today. I finally attached the little shelf unit to the wall. I also spent some time touching up the wood floors. I want to do something or other today, but I’m not sure what.
I’m definitely going to de-clutter the studio, though! It’s driving me a wee bit crazy.
We had a lovely weekend; nothing big, just hanging out together and watching old movies in the evening.
I’m doing everything I can to shut out the news right now. I know what’s going on, but Don and I have had long, serious talks about our age and our health and protecting ourselves from too much stress is paramount. Don escapes into the world of music and composition and recording. I escape into the miniature world, as well as books. I know I’ve said it before but finally starting work on this dollhouse has been the best gift I could have given myself. I have been so immersed in it. It has saved my sanity. I go upstairs to the studio and I’m in another world. I am so grateful that I have that outlet right now. I’m already searching for other (smaller) dollhouses to work on. I’m not ready to pull the trigger on another project, but the good thing is that I’m thinking seriously about it.
The garden is winding down and, frankly, it takes care of itself. I occasionally weed and clean up certain garden beds, but that’s all. Mowing is fabulous because I lose myself in that repetitive process. But, having an ongoing creative project is the key for me. It could be a puzzle, a painting, crocheting an afghan (I have to get back to that soon) – whatever. I need to create and I love creating in miniature.
I’m very grateful that I finally felt the urge to work on the Beacon Hill.
Don has to go to the doctor and get that darned shot in his eye this morning.
It’s a beautiful day out there today.
Stay safe.
Happy Monday.

I love that shelf, Claudia. A plant on the window ledge and I’ll be ready to move in! And I’m grateful you have found both solace and creative inspiration with the Beacon Hill. What a wonderful escape. I’ve been on a more or less news moratorium this week and last. And more or less sticking to print, which is less “rousing.”
I’m at art camp now and even though the weather is cold (low 60s), gale-force winds for the past two days and a rain storm that left everything beyond soaking, it’s heaven.
I’ve already got some mini plants on my wish list, Jeanie.
Have fun at Art Camp, Jeanie.
Stay safe.
The change in weather has been so nice here – cooler temps and some sunshine. Glad you and Don are taking good care of yourselves and each other.
How is your sister in Florida doing? I lost track of her blog and hope she and her boys are doing well.
She’s okay. Life is still stressful for her but all the boys are well.
Thanks, Ellen.
Stay safe.
Signed up for a new YouTube channel–(your!) cute guy playing music on his guitar! Made my Sunday afternoon.–curled up in bed, with the kitty, reading the 4th Richard Osman Thursday Murder Club book–“The Last Devil to Die” that I’d somehow missed. And then some new music. I get my love for music from my Dad’s side of the family. His sister, born 1905, played the theatre organ for silent movies, then demonstrated sheet music at Kresges for years. I actually have some sheet music that I need to have framed that has her photo on the cover in a a very cool 1920’s bobbed hair cut that I found on Ebay.
Oh, that guy? He’s awfully cute, isn’t he? Thanks so much for watching and listening.
Stay safe!
good morning.
best wishes and a prayer for don and his eyes, for the shot to do what it’s supposed to do.
same for more lovely weekends and inspirations, distractions, interests and love. glad you have them.
…
please stop reading now if you don’t want to hear sad news.
…
within the space of 24 hours last week, one of my cousins and his wife each had a heart attack. and a couple days ago, they died on the same day as each other. sadly, they were only 69 and 71. and sadly, that has happened before on the same side of my family … an uncle and cousin died the same day from heart attacks, many years ago, and thought due to working on the farm in tough weather. on the same day i learned that my cousin and his wife had heart attacks, i later learned one of my two remaining aunts (all same side of my family) had a stroke, fell, broke a hip and must now move into long-term care. i know bad things happen, because we live in an imperfect world, in imperfect bodies … but i am feeling extra-sad. and shook up, wondering where so much time has gone, and thinking about how to help my family and how to spend the rest of my time here on earth. important things to think about, yes, but deeper than i’d like at the moment.
thanks for listening.
okay. going to be okay.
and looking forward to hearing todd rundgren in minneapolis tomorrow night. that (among other things) will help.
hope you have a good, safe day.

I’m so sorry for the sudden losses of loved ones, Kathy. And the injuries to loved ones, as well. Sending prayers of support to you and your family.
