Monday Morning

November 17, 2025 at 9:01 am by Claudia

Thank you, Pru, for sharing this shelf with the littles. It must be trying at times.

But they do look awfully cute together!

It’s Monday. We had high winds again all day yesterday and it’s still windy this morning. I AM OVER IT. I don’t quite get why this is happening, but Mother Nature? Cut it out!

On Sunday, I worked on the puzzle for quite a while. I get obsessed. It’s coming along nicely. Saturday was the day to finally remove our window A/C units. I have a new place in which to store the kitchen unit, which is quite large; so large that we can’t find a storage bin for it. So I cleared out some space on the floor of the closet in the den, and just managed to eke out enough space for the vacuum cleaner. Much better. We don’t have to haul it out to the shed. The bedroom unit does have its own bin, so storing it out in the shed is fine.

I also dropped off more book donations for our library. I periodically go through my shelves and pull books that I no longer need or want. The library has a book sale every year and I feel good about donating to it. Sometimes, I’ll find a book I just donated on the shelves of the library. That makes me happy, as well!

New pajamas, leaning against the kitchen sink.

Beautiful Zoe.

I have one message for Agent Orange: Tick-tock, tick-tock. It’s just a matter of time. The best Christmas present ever will be your removal from office. The hideous cheap faux gold ornaments will be removed. The ballroom will never be built. The East Wing will be restored. The Resolute Desk, which belongs in the Oval Office, will be taken from Mar-a-lago, and returned to the White House. Every room will be smudged with sage. The mall-food-court-cement-patio you installed instead of the Rose Garden? Gone. A professional team will be brought in to make sure there is no evidence left you ever lived there. Forensic accountants will track ALL the money you have stolen and you will lose EVERYTHING.

There’s more, but that’s enough for now.

Stay safe.

Happy Monday.

I, too, can’t wait for him to be gone and he can take the rest of his goofy (and dangerous) administration with him!

And lastly, a priest should perform an exorcism to rid the White House of any remaining vestiges of the biggest mistake this country ever made.

great that you can fit one air conditioner in the closet downstairs and won’t have to carry it to and from the shed twice a year!

and that you’re enjoying the puzzle.

i know we can’t and won’t ever get all the details about things done behind closed doors, but i hope and pray that efforts are being made to salvage the functioning of our country so that it truly benefits “we the people” and that our government and, most importantly, its character/values show decency, fairness, maturity … i don’t think that’s too much to ask!

    …

went to the weaving class yesterday and left with mixed feelings. held in an already-crowded yarn shop that was open for business, it was noisy, hard to hear and move around. teacher was helpful, but talked fast and had too many students to help, in my opinion. learned a few things for the future, including that the loom provided is not for me. i did some more looking around online last night and might try (on my own) a frame/tapestry/school loom that could be held on my lap or stand upright on a table. returning yesterday’s loom today or tomorrow.

and making a from-scratch soup right now. it’s supposed to be lunch (and beyond) so hope i like it.

hope you are having a good day, everyone. and stay safe.

You’ll figure out what kind of loom is best for you. Taking a class in a noisy shop must have been frustrating!

      Stay safe, Kathy.

I don’t understand politics… why in the world would you not just release the files! Who the f cares if Trump likes it or not. Isn’t it all black and white or is it so vague you can’t prove anything. I don’t get it. It’s like we all have to wonder and speculate. I’m sick of the juvenile actions by our elected leaders when this time could be spend helping our country grow and prosper. I swear to the living lord we have an investigation on something every single year. Sorry, sick of all the games and corruption.

Love your new pajamas… it’s such a cheerful print. We’re having lots of rain and wind here, blustery couple of days. Completely agree about the “Agent Orange” and his evil workings. Have fun finishing your puzzle.

It’s time for Agent Orange to pay the piper. Cute jammies! Cute Littles! Libraries are the best thing going. I worked in one for 11 years. Loved seeing all the new books come in. We had an annual book sale that was very popular. People love books. Stay warm and cozy. Hugs, Elainf

dear Claudia/Don — Love the pixs of your girls–all of them are SO cute!!
I am so ready for an eviction to take place — would like to see historical beauty returned to OUR house. Am so afraid won’t be in my lifetime–what a crook, liar, thief, cheat, convicted sex offender, just to mention a few–AND demolisher of memories for many of us. Can we survive??

Hope your week will be a good one. stay safe/healthy

Tick tock is right! And take all that gold crap with you! You have destroyed any sense of history this beautiful White House had. Melania is just as guilty letting him get away with all he has done…..oh, and her picture was with Epstein!

What a bevy of lovely girls, they look happy.
I hope with all my heart these criminals are taken down. But, they are slippery and evil.
I shall continue everyday hoping for their demise and that they will be prosecuted and convicted. May all their ill gotten money be taken from them!
    Take Care,
    Kaye

Welcome!

Welcome!

I live in a little cottage in the country with my husband. It's a sweet place, sheltered by old trees and surrounded by gardens. The inside is full of the things we love. I love to write, I love my camera, I love creating, I love gardening. My decorating style is eclectic; full of vintage and a bit of whimsy.

I've worked in the theater for more years than I can count. I'm currently a voice, speech, dialect and text coach freelancing on Broadway, off Broadway, and in regional theater.

Thanks for stopping by.
