Natural Beauty

June 2, 2010 at 12:02 pm by Claudia

I gathered these shells when I was at the beach last week. They will go home with me to be added to a glass container I keep in the bathroom. Each time I am out here, I add more shells to the collection. The plate came with the apartment – I would have loved to use a prettier one, but I must work with what I have.

I think this qualifies as a heart-shaped rock, don’t you? To the right you can see a little piece of sea glass. Sea glass is so beautiful – I’ve never found a piece until now. I hope to gather more.

Peony bouquet #3. Pink and cream with a ruffly edge. Gorgeous. These remind me of one of our bushes back home – which are blooming, by the way. I have requested, perhaps a better word is ordered, Don to take a photo of them soon- stressing that their life span is short.

Have a wonderful day.

beautiful finds! The rock does look a bit like a heart—to me it also looks like the end piece in a loaf of bread- my favorite piece for toast! I cannot wait to see the pictures of your peonies at MHC. Take care Claudia- hope the sun is shining on you today ♥

A sweet hello from Frog Hollow Farm, yes, the peonies are in bloom and unfortunately never last as long as I would like. Glad you have Don taking photos for you. That little piece of sea glass is so pretty, a beautiful first piece to begin your collection with! Ciao, bella!

Love your sea shells. I collect them on the Oregon coast whenever we go there. I am sure that Don will remember to take pics of your peonies. The ones you have at the moment are beautiful too. I hope the time is going by swiftly and enjoyably!!

at first i thought the rock was a piece of toast! (time for me to clean my glasses) it’s all very cool and pretty.

you know the best place to find sea glass? dirty beaches! i’m not kidding. there’s a crummy beach near where we used to live near a playground. sadly, the shore was filled with trash and lots of sea glass! i gathered a jar full in 1 day! if you find a dirty beach, just pack the purell! LOL

Your shells are wonderful! I especially love the sea glass– love, love, love it! Have you heard of Glass Beach in Fort Bragg, CA? (google it) I’ve been there- it was pretty cool! It use to be a dumping site (can you believe people would dump their garbage into the beautiful Pacific– or any body of water?!).

    Hi Claudia,
Love your seashells. We have found little bits of sea glass around here so pretty and smooth but it’s only been about the size of a nickel. Your piece is beautiful in color.

My daughter and I saw some wonderful white peonies last week, actually they keep crossing my mind since I saw them… hmmm, maybe should have splurged and brought them home. I really hope Don follows your orders and gets those photos to you soon so we can all see them. Hope this makes you giggle: My hubby will salute at times when I “ask” him to do something, guess he considers it an order, right?

Isn’t it fun to loose yourself in time by the sea looking for treasures that wash ashore? I have a small collection from the beach at Galveston,TX and the Gulf of Mexico, from Puerta Villarta and from Hawaii. Some favorite memories of time spent on those beaches many years ago. I’ve never found a piece of glass, tho. Yours is exquisite! Love your heart shaped rock!

    Hi Claudia Sweetie…
Oh I love your seashell collection. What a find that piece of sea glass is. It is very hard to find the little pieces so this one is a fairly good size piece. What a treasure for sure. I love you heart from the sea. How beautiful. As I looked at your shells I could smell the sea air and I could feel the spray on my face. I could hear the ocean and the sea gulls crying over head. Thank you for that wonderful place that you took me. I needed a happy place to go to.

Your peony that you bought is beautiful, as I love them too. I could smell the fragrance, even though right now I cannot be near flowers. The odors seem to aggrevate my asthma. (Makes me so sad.) I cannot wait for Don to send you a photo of your peony bush. I am sure it is breath taking.

Thank you again sweetie for your love, your prayers and your friendship. They mean the world to me as you are a very Dear Friend.

Hope you are having a wonderful time on your latest job. I know you are enjoying the ocean for sure. Step in the water and let my toes sink in the sand. Thank you sweetie again for the this beautiful distraction from the pain I have been having.

Many hugs and so much love…Sherry

I love to go shelling. Great find, that sea glass!

Those are my favorite peonies, the ones with yellow in the center — they look like they have a little sunlight coming from within.

I’m not sure if it’s because I’m hungry or not but that heart shaped rock looks like a piece of toast with lots of butter and cinnamon sugar on it…yummy!
    Maybe it’s because it’s in a plate.
    Maybe because I AM hungry.

Welcome!

I live in a little cottage in the country with my husband. It's a sweet place, sheltered by old trees and surrounded by gardens. The inside is full of the things we love. I love to write, I love my camera, I love creating, I love gardening. My decorating style is eclectic; full of vintage and a bit of whimsy.

I've worked in the theater for more years than I can count. I'm currently a voice, speech, dialect and text coach freelancing on Broadway, off Broadway, and in regional theater.
